    Trimming a Neighbor’s Tree

I try to leave to customer, then confirm okay with other side, possible sale as presenting self well before treespassing in any form, constantly feeling for tension. Any hint of bad blood, I assume decades old feud and pass. You can't talk to neighbor of 7yrs , leaving this to you should help...

Need a good rope for pulley

i think Arborist Ropes that we might kinda take for granted, are super ropes for many purposes. Would think standards as cheaper Arbo-Plex tp TrueBlue etc. that aren't too stiff would ride 2" wide pulley or more. In 2" for 1/2" of these lines would handicap w/guesstimation of 50% of SWL on...

    The science of yoga

In the more Eastern type exercises, that Yoga is a part of, but also extends to martial arts etc. of the not so peaceful side 'sold' by Yoga polish and premise. They present another , decidedly non-Western philosophy, beyond the uni-sex exercises, there are some for women, and even men. . They...

Climbing & Rigging Pieces off This Tree

Great Work! . Would try to keep forces centered and not on the axis with the damage, w/o shocking, low and slow as could. . Counter-Intuitive Stat/thumbrule: w/o any external damage, in theory can remove 50% of core, and only lose 6% leveraged strength , Escalates quickly after that. . Leveraged...

    Motorized palm climber

would seem no loose 'husks'/clean travel. Best to try to climb over, climbing under can git'ya suff(er)ocated from shear weight and sliding mass from above..

If take common 8' 2x4 w/2"sq.block each end we neatly have 8x12" + 2x2" =100" column >>as a FINITE usable length that can be 'expressed' vertically or horizontally w/hybrids of each in between ranges. . If from center of clock, 2x4 w/blocks column rises to TDC/12 noon, >>all of the potential...

    Pruning saws are SHARP

i remember constantly telling a climber 'Fred' to turn blade away from self hanging pole saw overhead and 'out of range' to get you. Kept saying as he wouldn't listen. It fell one day, they still call him Frank-n-Fred now i understand, from the long teardrop from how close to eye it came...

There is story around these parts of a Dr Peter Donzelli asking for 2 wraps on Porty and got 3, cost him his life (y2k) as rope seized against load and column of lightening struck tree failed below him/with him in it. The jump in friction can go from like 10xBallast (hand hold) @ 4 half circle...

Rope elasticity can buffer spikes (like electrical capacitor) , and lay down flatter to more contact in some cases. But, also stiffness against the arc-ing i think , that then leverages thru more against rope , for more effect by trapped tighter seating of higher friction(?). The geometry...

i always say they are so sharp, don't even have to touch you to to cut you!

    How To Breathe

i try breathing out on the compression of the cavity, inwards on expansion of same. Sometimes just the 'massaging' of the watching and it's purposefulness, >>and the keeping of such 'real time' >>is more important than the doing (after it is more exercised and automatic, yet purposeful still)...

    Brush trailers

Parbuckling round weight up ramps when can. >>even rampish grade of solid logs. 2/1 rolling, w/o man on down ramp side. . Another advantage to sideless trailer is truck pull 90degrees to trailer to parbuckle 20' lengths / whatever. Lock down rope per layer and pull from opposite side stacking...

    Brush trailers

We stacked brush butts to 1 side on base for stiff lever, to roll flip across the short axis of heavy equipment trailer to flip off with another vehicle pulling to side. . Get base about 5 branches deep of flat 'fans', trim wheel well shapes out. Then build up from there and in this range can...

    Stress concentration in cuts...

i think center punch allows re-apportioning those fibers to the steering sides for more utility than just hold. . i think some of the hinging, depends on species as many other things when talk of wood as a generic substance; especially as breaks and where breaks free some from rear linguin glue...

Compression sine/side force presses Equal & Opposite pair further incorrectly / deforming more and more out of support column line; whereas tension sine/side force pulls towards more correctly inline, can wrinkle buckle tho (as opposed to compression side bow buckle)as pulling to center goes to...

Climbing & Rigging Pieces off This Tree

Generally think if stands up to thrashings in storm and not shock load, keep bod center mid high, is very doaoble. But has 1 leg of support to 1 connection to ground, possibly 'sand boxed' roots. How does trunk and roots look?

Need help deciding on a heavy-duty rigging setup..

i think best to start that on super tight line, to the greater frictions mentioned. >>or get dead drop to the frictional control On long horizontal this might be self tightening by allowing load to drift down on hinge, against tight rope to tighten rope more. >>this takes not a butt tie, but...

Need help deciding on a heavy-duty rigging setup..

PreTightening to take out the hit, makes ropes and their supports last longer. Also can help steer to side on hinge if needed.

Sweating/Swigging line is bastardization of support science from rope. . In all cases, un-malleable stone, malleable metal, wood stiff fiber and flexible rope fiber etc. >>Use as support, thru cosine as % of length and force >>the amount of total carried 'expressed' against load (same math for...

Need help deciding on a heavy-duty rigging setup..

Probably best to piggy back a 'compression jig' 3:1 etc to mainline to sequentially pull into Porty etc. Remove jig and then ground control doesn't have to worry about 3xFast etc. as just works the mainline. . Spread friction points lessens heat concentration buildup and glazing i think. Also...
