So... when I say HABIT, this is what I mean... there are 4 stages:
1) Cue 2) Craving 3) Response & 4) Reward
So... yes, cutting within your power zone is totally a great practice to maintain your shoulders. AND a super great example!
...
But we'd break it down
1 Cue - the cut is above eye...
I did see that, however it was in the category of Competitions... so I was trying to keep it separated as only a minute amount of tree industry folk compete in tree comps.
Hey Y'all... this is the start of a forum for a talk I'll be giving at TCI Expo.
I'm hoping we will be able to create some sub-forums off it, but the focus is on 4 fundamental habits that affect our quality of work, as well as life.
The 4 Foundations in this focus are:
1) Fuel (food/water)
2)...
Nope nope, I'm out here on a contract basis, 3ish month sabbatical from HW.
Besides the wildfires though, California is quiet awesome!... aaaaand the whole family was able to come along, it's been a great adventure
I've been working in the high sierras of California,USA for the past 4 weeks... climbing through furs, cedars, and pines all day, 5-6 days a week. The Gen2 clogger saw pants are totally holding their own. I haven't had any major snags or tears, aaaaand it isn't too difficult cleaning off all the...
When dropping/ chunking out trunk wood, I've found that the Humboldt does tend to pop the pieces off away from the trunk and more often than not, land flat.
... 60% of the time, it works every time.
Living on the east coast, preserving millable wood isn't a huge concern, but not putting large...
@Magnum783 Sorry...I guess I was one of the lucky ones that got the customs without the service fee straight thru Clogger. @GregManning is right, I'm pretty bad at going on here everyday... and, yes, I have lived in CLT for almost 3 years now.
I went for some custom Clogger Zeros.
Customer for life! Y'all are amazing. The custom measurements make these more comfortable than my lazy Sunday sweat pants. They breathe, the material holds it shape through 5 straight days of wear, the pockets actually work for holding and accessing the...
Thanks Tim! I went through a bit of no phone/ no computer, thank you for the tips and things to try.
Hoping ill be able to go to an srt workshop within the next year or so.
My custom sized Clogger Zeros arrived last week... I've worn them Monday - today (Thursday).
They are amazing, Charlotte NC had had a weird spring, so the tempt has ranged from 35F in the morning to 80F in the afternoon. Not only do these pants feel like I'm wearing pajamas, but I never felt...

Hahaha, and once again, Canada seems to do it better, eh!
(I'll be suggesting this to CAA if someone else doesn't beat me to it... I think spots could also be reserved for (inter)nationally ranked climbers as well to draw in greater competition and knowledge to share with err'one)
HEY! HEY! HEY, LADIEEEEES!
Good Evening Ladies!
I was checking to see if any of us plan to compete in 2017. When, Where, etc.?!
PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
I'm newer to climbing, got the awesome/spoiled opportunity to go to the KTCC this past fall and watch Boel H. rock through it all... I'm...
Awesome, so y'all will be making tree climbing trousers with chainsaw protection for women!? Sign me up!
Be sure to have designs for smaller waist, plus a butt, quads & calves.... what are those things called?...oh yeah, muscles! please make them so they fit curves with muscles
Thanks! I actually watched the Ddrt injury video just before looking at this post :p
I primarily climb double rope right now, but am working to use Srt for more than just ascent on large trees (where foot locking is going to burn me out before the actual job that needs to be done). I still feel...
Thanks Greg! I'm definitely trying to sponge up and then apply ALL the knowledge :D I know I probably had my standards for what I expected to do at KY a little too high. ... Totally should have bailed on the toss and done the limb walk on the work climb... I love limb walks. But zero DQs on...

I got into the tree industry in August 2015 at 31 years old...
