Is anybody sitting on an old ‘self propelled’ (not truck mounted stump grinder that has seen better days, not working parked out back project kind of stumper?
Likely foolish but thinking about a project. I’m in Ontario if that matters.
Thanks
Hey everybody
Ideally you run a chip truck and a chipper 1 unit and you’re set.
I’m setup a little different building as I go and it’s all based off the pickup trucks so far.
The 1st trailer is my homemade chip wagon and for my first year it got me a long way.
The 2nd trailer is close to...
So I was going to get a zig zag but they have another recall so I’m thinking of going with another tool instead. I climb on 1/2” blue streak and 7/16” lava and go back and forth.
thanks for any help
I’ve been looking at tow behind back hoes for a couple different reasons. The ones I’ve seen local in Ontario on kijiji etc are sold by the time people reply to my messages. Where do you guys look for those? Harbour freight says no cross border shipping.
They’re $5,000 new at Princess Auto but...
Where would you look if you wanted a cheap gasser tow behind stump grinder like an old 630A or similar?
Even if it’s a bit of a project to get back to good working order.
Thanks
Hey everybody
I was wondering where you guys would look if you wanted an old stumper retired, scrapped, etc. Even an old tow behind not fussy on make or model.
Thanks
I’ve been looking at a site that brought in fill after the trees were already planted.
My initial reaction is excavation around the trunks. But I’ve been thinking and removing the fill is a nonstarter and plowing up the yard with airspade, etc not great so what about vertical mulching to...
Hey guys and gals
I’m trying to sort things out but ei has changed since I used to be on it. I’m looking at a couple people for part time this fall an extra pair of hands. They’re on ei now and I don’t have full time work for them but how much can they work before it screws up the ei?
It used...
Hey guys and gals
I’d appreciate your thoughts and ideas on this before I pull the trigger which will be soon.
I’ve just gone out on my own and am setting things up to be easier (I hope).
I have a 10’ x 6’ trailer and I’m building a chip box for the back that I think will be 6Lx6wx4h the...
I started into trees in 2005 and have done a pretty good mix of types of tree work. I’ve worked for 3 different companies over my time as an arb but last week the boss talked to me and let me know that things are shutting down.
I’ve got a few jobs lined up and a couple clients that want to...
While I understand that every tool has a right job and then jobs it can handle gets me wondering some times.
Often to improve on a less than ideal site you want to basically aerate, amend, improve the site. Ignoring SGRs, deadwood, etc.
So let’s say compaction and soil quality are our 2 main...
As of now we don’t do enough fertilizing to justify the price of a nice mounted rig. We have been using the spikes and hammering them in. I’m not against the solid fertilizer I’ve even read the argument that using them in the fall is beneficial because they can break down in deposits instead of...
We have our operations yard by Beamsville and most of our work is in the Hamilton area but we currently service Ancaster to Burlington down to Niagara Falls.
KS@motherearthts.ca is my email or message me here if you have any questions.
The prerequisite list is a goal to have some more...
Hey everybody
I’m looking for the length and width of the leather foot straps on a pair of gecko spurs.
I know the generic length is 26” but the width eludes me and I forgot mine at work. For this matter I assume and spur strap should be the same as long as it is it will fit in the buckle...
I’ve seen different posts and strong opinions on this topic and rightly so. I’m from Ontario and we can’t have anyone on crew under the age of 16 at work it’s the law.
However at home younger brother, friends kids, etc. I firmly believe that involving them in our industry.
I also believe there...
