Time for a chipper upgrade, what's your preference?

I really liked our 1090, that 1390 mentioned above was what replaced it. They are small enough to pull well with a lot of the features of a larger one. A great mid-range chipper!

Most times it doesn't matter, but with the anvil pruners, more power can be exerted without the tool trying to twist. Also, I think it cuts cleaner. It goes without saying to get the optimal results out of these type of tools you must keep them sharp, but I have tried a number of them and...

Have any of you all tried the LOWE brand? I am not talking the big box Lowes...LOWE is a German company that has been in business for almost 100 years. I have been using their products for over 10 years, and one of their products that i really like is their anvil loppers with the curved...

Rollback tow truck for tree work

@flyingsquirrel25 Where do you get the tire tie downs? We have been using tie downs that we can tighten with an impact to counter the coil springs on the lift. It works, but I think the tire tie downs would work better. You don't have the machine bouncing too much going down the road with...

Rollback tow truck for tree work

Well I like the idea .. I am regularly dealing with logs larger that we can lift with our grapple truck, and would like a truck that we could load up to a 8K log onto. Also, we work alot of challenging access roads with not much turnaround space, so a straight truck would be an advantage over a...

Tips on getting started with crane work

That makes sense. The other option is to go up with a number of slings, tie them all, and take the ends to the center. Then the crane operator can just bring his hook to the middle and hook up, and the climber can stay on the trunk. for multiple cuts at a time.

Tips on getting started with crane work

Ive never heard of that...sounds like a hazard. What does the climber do when he gets done rigging? Does he go out with the piece?

Rollback tow truck for tree work

Good day..Was wondering if anyone on here uses rollback tow trucks for tree work. I am primarily thinking of hauling a spider/wheel lift, and winching/loading large logs from work sites. Any input would be appreciated.

Tips on getting started with crane work

Even watching crane work 1 or 2 days will really open your eyes as to what you can do with a crane. Invest in communication headsets, and work with good weight margins. The most challenging part of cane work is estimating weights. The second most challenging is the reverse rigging, and making...

Input From Debris Truck Operators Please

Being able to dump is quite over-rated. A good operator can unload a truck in minutes, and keep in mind all of the extra weight you have in a box that can dump vs. one that doesnt need to. Also, because of the extra reinforcements, you lose about 6" at the bottom of your bed by having a dump...

    New Grapple truck

Thanks for the kind words! Yes we really like it. You both are in the ballpark. It was around $260K, before graphics, tool boxes, and other general customization.
