A client will seldom pay you more than what you think you are worth! This statement has caused quite a lot of thought for me, as having the tendency to price low for any number of reasons.
I have always thought there should be a form similar to the TRAC form, that guides you through a series...
I started with Senas, then switched to Speakeasy, and then switched to Cardos. The Cardos are much simpler to use, have better range, no connection issues, and have the benefit of mesh connection and no limit on how many are using it. We have 8 systems and really like them. We are using the Pack...
This is very similar to how I run our tree company. Bonuses paid quarterly on company profits, all employees are part of discussions on new equipment purchases and any procedure changes. They are also encouraged to share anything that they would like to see different, both in organization...
Job pricing largely comes down to supply and demand. If you are the best in the area and people are willing to wait for your services, there is no reason you shouldn't charge a premium for your services. If you have nothing more than the next person as far as equipment or expertise the job now...
Yes it is hard to see those nice logs go to waste, but the equipment side of the milling can be quite a money pit. Although it feels good to be utilizing the wood, it can be awhile before it is profitable. My experience at least. We have set up another completely separate sawmill business...
We were having issues getting parts for our Husky saws, I actually got a Husky rep number from my dealer that I could call. I got thru to someone at Husqvarna and started telling them what we were up against and promptly got hung up on. If Husky was serious about servicing the industry they...
So I started by climbing and rigging everything, and chipping all the brush, and that is still how I look at a lot of potential jobs. I know that every piece of equipment I bring to a job, whether lift, grapple truck, or crane, should add efficiency and safety and reduce my time on the jobsite...
Well I use a nifty SD64, and we do a fair bit of crane work with a 40ton Terex stick boom. I am not purchasing this to replace the crane on big jobs, but to streamline alot of our smaller jobs where it doesnt make sense to get the big crane in, and reduce or eliminate our rigging. Also we have...
Jobber just updated their app! You can now view the schedule by day, list, 3 day, or week.
We have been using their system for almost 9 years, and they keep improving it based on feedback from the users.
Seems costs of the program keeps going up too....There is a cost to efficiency, but not...
If you have room in your basket mount 2 scabbards..1 for a top handle and 1 for an 18". Then when you get down to larger wood switch the top handle for a large saw.
Having the right saw for the job right at your elbow will save a lot of time.
Best of luck to you!
Hey could all you Dino owners or operators chime in here and tell about the Dino lifts? They look like a great machine, and have some great features, but it doesn't seem like they are catching on too much. I would like to hear what is to like and what is not to like on them. Thanks in advance.
You will never be sorry that you set up another truck with tool boxes and gear. One, that will give you spares, and two, the time saved moving tools can make your day go smoother.
We have been running one for 7 years..ground speed is great, the new ones seem a bit more sluggish going uphill tho.
As far as boom speed, we can run 3 controls going up and out, and 4 coming down. The main scissor is pretty slow when it is cold, and there are different functions that work...
We have been super happy with the Husky 540T battery saw. We started with the 536 and it just doesnt have the power that the 540 has. It is alot of money to get set up, but then you never have to deal with fuel issues, hot starting issues, or carburetor issues. Plus you never have to pull...
Lightly used
Toro/Ditchwitch attachment plate
Manual angle adjustment
We tried it out and it was too agressive for turf, and we dont get enough snow here to keep it for snow removal. It works great for hard surfaces, but we have decided to sell.
$3250 plus shipping, or can arrange pickup or...
