    Another Sketchy Pine

Not here to discuss your ability but this post makes it sound like you have zero rigging gear which usually relates to not much experience. Glad that you cleared it up that your a pro. Anyway, I’d have no problem pulling it over. Anything that I’m worried about not having the power or...

    Electric brakes on the chipper

You're correct Tom. Battery is only to actuate the brakes if the break-away is pulled. I haven't seen any thing that has its own battery also have a small one just for the brakes.

    2017-2018 Brush Bandit 19xp

Badits marketing info on their website only lists one gas engine option for the 19xp, 165 hp. That seems way under powered. Pretty sure that’s the 4.3 litre V6.

    Mystery Lowering Device/Winch?

When I need to lift I put a block at the base of the tree and use the mini. I’d love to have a grcs but haven’t needed it bad enough to fork out the money for one. Every now and then I search eBay for a cheap used winch with the intention of building my own but I haven’t found one yet and my...

    Mystery Lowering Device/Winch?

It costs a lot of money to manufacture stuff in low quantities. So individual component prices are on the high side, plus the winch the thing is built around is expensive. Nobody is getting rich off it, that’s for sure.

    Subbing out cleanup

I agree with Sean. A mini would be before a lift on my priority list.

    Mystery Lowering Device/Winch?

I like the overall simplistic design and fairleads. That's not a cheap chunk of aluminum and a fair amount of machining tho.

    Spiderjack 3, rope guide twinline

I would have jumped on that too but looks like I was way to slow.

    Crawler Lift purchase

If you wanted to consistently run in the cold an immersion heater could be added to the hydraulic tank for a insignificant price compared to the machine.

    Work slowing down?

I've found the key to staying busy in the winter is to sell work during the summer. Anytime I talk to a client I try to mention that winter is usually the best time to have tree work done. Most trees are best to be pruned in the dormant season and some can only be pruned while dormant. With...

You scored. Are you planning on updating to auto feed or did you mean a self feeding chipper?

Dump trailer with platform for a mini....?

I think your onto something there! All those guys who put grapple saws on their Kbooms shoulda went with an aerial chipper instead.

Dump trailer with platform for a mini....?

With a big enough chipper you can put the mini in the back. And one of the best parts of all is no ramps needed!

    interesting equipment

Looks like someone’s homemade handy work. Looks like a common low ceiling fork lift mast was added to the front of the truck. My bet is that a farmer added it to move stuff longer distances around his farm than sold it to some yahoo tree guy who than added the chip box to it.

    Mini skid steer shopping

I don’t know what is in there for the valve body but there is a motor spool. Most valves have interchangeable spools for either a motor or a cylinder spool. Motor spools are open in neutral where cylinder spools are closed or locked.

    SPIDER LIFT TREE WORK PICS

I usually work with just one other guy so we rarely find time to take pictures. A member of the Yacht club next to this big Cottonwood removal took a few photos of us.
