    ronin powered ascender

I spoke with NiceGuyDave (Wesspur) about the Ronin. He bought one, to test it out, as that is part of what he does. He gave a solid thumbs down. saying that, besides it not being mid-line attachable, and having expensive proprietary batteries, it eats ropes. I trust Dave's opinions and will pass...

Question about the Tree Austria 3.2 Saddle

I've had a TA 3.2 for a couple years now. I like it a lot. Previously, I've flown a Butterfly, Buckingham Versatile, and Buck Ergovation.... The TA 3.2 tends to creep down, especially if a larger saw is being used, which is where the shoulder harness comes in really handy. Overall, very comfy...

Not a problem, if written into the contract is bi-yearly inspections.

    Dynamic cabling systems

I now prefer Tree Guard, which I obtain from Wesspur. I used Cobra for years. In fact, Scott Baker and I were the first that I know of to install Cobra cable systems. The year was 1997.( Scott was just rewarded a lifetime Honorary membership in the ISA--more specifically, it is an Award of...

Anybody near Mt Vernon Wa? Skagit valley

I could possibly help. but So could another associate, who is fully licensed. He's south Everett based, so not that far, really. And has family where he can stay a short ways north of MV.

Crap it finally happened. Wrong tree removed.

Happened to me twice. Once way back around 1980. In both cases, I wasn't 100% clear in pointing out the jobs.... the second was a smallish mt ash that was cut, the wrong one..... I bought a 3" caliper replacement, and drug it out of my Toyota into the hole. Easy. but back around 1980, the boss's...

    Name this Knot

It has an extra twist as compared to a zeppelin bend, which means it would reduce the line strength a bit more. I've used a zeppelin bend for years

Max chainsaw bar length for different chain types

Do NOT run anything longer than a 25 bar on a 362.... regardless of chain configuration. I run a 24 on my fully woods ported Husky 357, which is easily 40-50% stronger than a bone stock 362. It would pull a 28, if you could get a small mount Husky bar in that length, but I'll not do that, as...

    IVY root removal

Greg, I've used glyphosate for years. It even works on populus... best to inject in the fall while the tree is still standing. Best chance of the bad stuff translocating deeper into those pesky roots. The OP lives near me, in the PNWet, and was referring to English ivy. There's no poison ivy...

    Bandit 200xp vs 250xp

I believe the 200 is similar to the 150... in that the feed rollers are smaller than the 250 XP's, and thus have less crushing power, which I believe, also have a larger infeed opening and wider and larger feed wheels. Mine has an opening probably 18" wide, and the machine will chip 14" wide...
