I girth hitch a tool lanyard to the telescope pole so the pole cannot be dropped and allows to slide the sling the full 20'. Most times sling is no connect Ed to me.

I like the tie back on your tip but not the loop of rope. do that quite often with a short rope and capturing the tip in case of tip failure or most often trust the tip with another life line lower in the crown as my primary/backup

The nylon poly stretches more than the all poly. Need some stretch in case of failure. I find it to be a bit bouncy only on the 1st 15 to 20ft of a 50 plus ascent.
