Which way do you face your pole saw blade?

I girth hitch a tool lanyard to the telescope pole so the pole cannot be dropped and allows to slide the sling the full 20'. Most times sling is no connect Ed to me.

Which way do you face your pole saw blade?

Pretty smart. If you hang your pole near your line a lot. Personally I use a lanyard for pole or biner to harness at the base

Feather Filing a Silky Hayate 6.5 pole saw blade

I have been getting away with just filing the tip edge. so a few strokes at the most per tooth, really sped things up. You could most likely do it with small flat file just have to see what will fit. Did 6 blades with one file and probably get a few more. Total time mb just under 2 hours. 3...

    Looking for the ideal rope.

I like the tie back on your tip but not the loop of rope. do that quite often with a short rope and capturing the tip in case of tip failure or most often trust the tip with another life line lower in the crown as my primary/backup I third or fourth the stubs as bad habit

    Looking for the ideal rope.

The nylon poly stretches more than the all poly. Need some stretch in case of failure. I find it to be a bit bouncy only on the 1st 15 to 20ft of a 50 plus ascent. If you remember a few yrs ago I had two failures. a bridge in combo with a limb i was lanyard-ed into. Softer drop for slightly...
