I picked up a loop of Archer chain for one of my saws recently having never used them before. Seems like good quality overall except a single tooth on the chain is so hard it literally destroys files and won’t take an edge (I’m sure it would be fine if I had a chain grinder). Maybe some issue...
That’s been posted awhile. Started at 17k. Texted with the guy a bit; sounds legit. It’s a rental unit that wasn’t seeing enough use. I thought about it for some time, but decided to go larger.
Yeah, they're legit. Basically an outdoor gear super store and occasionally have wicked sales. Certainly not my go to, but once in a while I've picked up a piece of gear from them when the deal is too hard to pass up.
FYI just stumbled across this Zigzag Plus for $170 if anyone is looking for one (~50% markdowns on other Petzl stuff too):

thanks for the tip! It's got a Cummins 4bt 110hp; it's an '05 but low hours since it was owned by a campground its whole life except the first year.
yeah, United Ag has already been super helpful just answering some questions for me over the phone
New (to me) Bandit 150 and work rig. Looking forward to not loading and unloading my personal truck constantly and not always subbing out chipping. Won't be hauling any chips of course, but around here I can usually chip on site more than 50% of the time, not to mention plenty of other climbing...
Glad you were tied in twice and a reminder of why it's critical! A bigger red flag would be the mentality "it's only a couple cuts, I don't need to lanyard in"
I think they’re coming out with a 12ah Forge that fits m18 tools as well (like the 6ah that came out in the fall). It’ll probably still be quite expensive, but I’d guess between $3-400
I've only run the 8 and they occasionally overheat. I haven't bought a 12 yet because I'm waiting for the new 12ah Forge stacked cell battery to come out (supposed to be cooler running, higher sustained output, faster charging), which I'm guessing will be a sweet option for the saw.
Taking care of some roadside trees for the town. Bank below the road was undercut by the recent storms with a couple spruces already leaning towards the road and lines. Can’t complain about the views.
Yeah, with the amount of erosion and washout already from this last one, tomorrow’s could be a real doozy. It is humbling to watch the raw power of nature.
Not my truck. Belongs to a guy I work with on occasion around here. Neat, but have to say I’m glad not be the one trying to keep it...
