    How brainwashed are you?

He does this all the time (Daniel) drops a few tree related posts to lure you in, then whammo! Starts with the ‘They Live’ stuff. Fill your boots, he loves getting engagement with his nonsense.

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

Avant have one, videos I’ve seen are pitiful.

    Vandals. Grrr!

Very disappointing. Catalpas are very robust, I would leave it, maybe disguise it a bit. A few more chops and that’d be it I reckon. Kid needs a psychological evaluation.

    Best sources of employees?

The problem is not with that I pay my employee too much, it’s that I don’t take enough out for myself. From a tax optimisation pov

    Best sources of employees?

My accountant pointed this out to me as well.

    Best sources of employees?

Plus it’s often ‘job and knock’ (British term meaning if the days job is completed, money made, then you go home early)

You miss all the shots you don’t make.

    Best sources of employees?

Truck and chipper 20k and you’re in business, with those you can compete with the biggest companies in the world for small/medium work. You’ll already have the saws and stuff. No stock to buy, no buildings to rent, no employees (just your mate, who’ll work for cash)

    Best sources of employees?

It’s a low overhead industry. Margins are tight, so doing your own thing once you’re competent is a no brainer.

    Rayco RG35 versus Bandit ZT1844.

After some advice/opinion. I have has Raycos to this point an RG25 now an RG35 (wheeled) and consider them a well built reliable tool. I’m looking to replace the 35 and am looking at a very low hours Bandit back in the UK, on tracks. New is out of the question because things are scandalously...

    Stump clean up efficiency

Nice vid, very efficient. I use a hi-cap bucket, ease it in and fork/shovel the rest in. Not as good as the scoops, but it’s a lot of moolah for not much more effectiveness.

Opinions on Bandit 65xp with 25hp

That thing that you bought to tide you over till you get the thing you really need is the thing that’s stopping you get what you really need.

Do you think tree removal gets more focus and attention than other aspects of tree care?

Pruning for show. Removals for dough. Removals are better cos everyone gets the result they envisiged. Trimming or whatever you call it often results in disappointment at how little you have done or horror at how much (apart from re-pollards of course)

    Husqvarna X-COM

I turn off the coms when running saws and next to the chipper. If I want to speak I’ll press the button and say what needs to be said. Running motorbike coms here btw.

    Are equipment prices dropping?

Well, if new is more expensive, it stands to reason that will pull up used prices.

    Broken man, extreme burnout

Most days I’m talking myself down from the proverbial ledge every morning on the way to work. I’ve also just got back in the van without starting if I really wasn’t “feeling it” on occasion. Get pissed with some mates, have a laugh, not about this, they may think you’re a poof, or worse, mental.

    Burning out

Ha ha! My old boss is a constant fixture in my mind. You start to see his reasoning more and more.
