    Cambium / Friction Saver necessary?

Hello ! It seems appropriate in three regards to use a cambium saver when climbing SRT. The first two are easy to understand and it was why, simultaneously in the north and south of France, two climbers cut a figure 8 belay tool in half and girthed a sling to it. The worlds first retrievable...

Workshop with special guests this Friday...

When we start to peel back the extraneous layers around ‘technique’, climbers, ground workers, bucket gays and gals should all arrive at the same conclusion, and that is that our bodies, our breath and control of the conscious mind are everything, period. Wouldn’t it be interesting to delve...

Eric, the Maruichi crew and myself have been setting up for tomorrows Work Positioning workshop. We lashed four branches on to Shelters Expo booth, installed a ‘spiking trunk’ and are just driving in the lift as I write this. It’s gonna be awesome, can’t wait for it now !

    Wooden Hand Book

Hi Steve, thank you for starting this thread, I am overjoyed to see my little booklet, with the help of so many great contributers, take flight into the world. And I am glad that you find it calming, I wanted to offer a break from digital screens. 1. Ben’s Cake and Eat it would assume that a...

    Moss Cinching Lanyard prototype

That’s novel and I think that most lanyards serve just a couple of functions when actually there are loads of potential applications and ways to rig them. I’ve added a video showing my spur climbing hard/soft hand lanyard with a novel take on the working end. For the cinch setting it can be...

Communication and why it is the most critical safety factor in tree work and tree climbing in general

Hey Moss, I'm so sorry to hear about this and hope that your eye is healing, just so shocked. I plan to visit Eric in November with a couple of Japanese climbers and would be stoked to meet you if things could fall that way. All the best.

    TAZ Lov2 video

You can use the Lov 2 as a descender AND fall arrest, it has both certification but you will need two devices to run both options. Sorry that wasn’t so clear in the vid.

    SRT ropes article

The thinner cover is compensated by the tightness of the braiding and high strand count. I guess I wrote that in the article though ! I still have not tried Yale's 'Scandere', am interested to see how much stretch it has.

    DSRT(S) canopy anchors

Here is a strange one from a few years back, used it a couple of times when I was into cinching rings. The Blue Rope is the main system and the Orange (Platinum) kinda piggybacks onto it and allows canopy retrieve once the bight has been slipped by a groundsman. Around the same time as this I...

    Back in the saddle

What a beautiful picture. I am bed bound with an injury, for me one month out of the harness is way too long, miss the wind and feel, the sounds and smells.
