Made me squirm on the couch a few times.

Not me, just a vid I found last night of a long ascent with the Wraptor. I am sure some of you who do this type of work will be less phased but....

I just typed a long winded response Steve but then it crashed and lost it all. So the short answer is Thanks, I will look at other orientations and woods.

I will take a look at 45 & 90 Steve. Thanks. There are a few other solid wood options he has also. If you can think of some species that might be better than Walnut let me know and I will see if he has it. They are cut from Hardwood floor strips so that may limit some of the choices.

I agree Gordon, there are far better methods then adhesive. I just don't know that they would be user friendly for everyone. Adhesive while questionable at times is something everyone can handle without tools.

Okay so a few more people have asked about more of these. I am looking but not having much success finding any still around. Ice studs on tracked mini skid?

I have no experience (wheeled machine myself) but have you thought about sheet metal screws. Hex head with straight flat screwdriver slot. Youtube "wranglerstar" he has a video of them and why he uses them in particular in his boots for icy conditions.

    ramps for mini skid

If I was going to have something built, I think I would try to get a hydraulic lift gate on the side so I could drive straight on and just raise it. Would need some design thoughts but I am sure something could be figured out.

    What do chips weigh??

Chips are about 500 give or take. My thoughts would be your bark may be lighter than you think. Or you are over weight and don't know it. Have you ever gone to the scales loaded and unloaded?

Hey @Travor The communication between you and the crane operator was great. It looked like his ball and your center of gravity were off a few times but most of the picks and cuts went well. Of course the goal is no movement but not every pick works perfectly. Obviously the first pick was to...

Agreed, you probably need metal or wood. Plastic and fiberglass would be questionable unless they were really thick.
