Just a heads up so you all can start collecting your pennies.

Thanks for all well wishes and concerns on here and in PM's. Let me fill in some of the blanks on why. I am well as are all of my family members. Everyone I have meet in this field has been great. Nobody screwed me over lol. My customers always paid. None of them are suing me or are unhappy. I...

Just a heads up so you all can start collecting your pennies.

Not yet, I need to do an inventory, make the list, take photos. The big ticket items will be pick up only probably. GRCS, Wraptor, 90's maybe Bandit 200 chipper, Arb Trolley, some saws and so on. I will probably keep the Dingo and attachments but you never know. Lots of other stuff but most of...

Just a heads up so you all can start collecting your pennies.

There is a good chance that in the next few months I will downsize considerably. To much effort and red tape to make my adventure worth it. I will still rec climb and do simple stuff for family but a lot of my stuff will just not be needed anymore at that point. You guys that have been here...

$800 to spend - tell me what to buy!

I think so. I haven't had any problems with any of the 5 Echo saws I own. Don't get wrong I got 5 Stihl saws also and if I used them everyday, all day then the weight of the Echo might be a factor. Well all but the 2251T, that thing is crazy light and really angry after some mod work.

How much more does a crotch weigh??

Try using the climber as perspective @Steve Connally even if you have to measure them across the shoulders each day. Write that number down in the cab, then you will at least have a visual and a size. Average man in US (Google says) is 18.5" but that may be a lie. I am 22" and I am certainly not...

$800 to spend - tell me what to buy!

For $400 bucks I would just get the CS590. It is a little heavy in the tree at times but you will still have $400 bucks leftover to buy more stuff. Like all new saws they prosper from some tweaking after you burn a few tanks through them.

    Saluting Branches 2018

I was at Beverly with a few dozen old friends I only see at these events. I'm glad you decided to volunteer, it is a great cause. Like you after 4 or 5 years of these now I have yet to find anyone with a poor attitude.

One of my buddies lost 1 eye 30+ years ago AJ. He said Tennis was a bitch at first but since then nothing has stopped him. He even got his small plane license about 15 years ago and still pilots his own plane. Keep at it, there is nothing holding you back but you.

Should I retire my blue moon climbing line

I usually use a shackle. I have used opposing carabiners in a pinch but only when I set it by hand. If your just working vertically only than simplicity is nice. If you start moving all over the canopy then some of the pulley versions work better when it's time to drag your rope back out of the...

Should I retire my blue moon climbing line

I would just cut it off and be done. Save the 10-20 feet to practice knots while sitting in the living room. We all have to cut our new ropes at some point or another, it happens. Stop using Carabiners for cinch anchors, there are far better options for doing that. and, Welcome to the Buzz.

    Feedback Please

I watched it a few times Steve and all the points you make are valid to me, but like you and many others on here who have been to Pete's class we have all experienced both systems in action. One of the things you did not mention was the safety aspect. Cable cranes still require a climber in the...

    Smaller top handle recommendation needed

Well since I already own to many saws for wood cutting, I decided that what I needed was a display saw. So I talked to Rich (West Coast Muscle Saws) toady and bought one of his CS2511T limited edition display saws with the Buckshot muffler. Should have it in about 7/10 days with the holiday.

    Marvin Pole Pruner Heads Sticking

Yes. Is it sticking after a cut or all the time. It does not take a lot to get them dinged up a little. Last time mine started sticking it turned out to be a simple enough fix. It just needed some loving, lol. Look at the cord and make sure it is not frayed or to big if you replaced it. Check...
