Dude we ABSOLUTELY have to go on a trip together now. This week is the big highline get together in MOAB utah. I had a free invite but couldnt get work off. Have u ever been there?
HAHA! What are the odds! I just saw your other post. I would not have started a new thread had I seen ur post in this thread:

My wife is on board with me doing a big trip next year so we are gonna make it happen!
...but I am unsure how hindered I am by the rads system. It is brutally slow climbing into the canopy but when I am taking photos and working around camp it is just so darn fast.
@monkeylove and @gmcttr...
I have a very good friend who is getting into the sport of slacklining and highlining. We were discussing how awesome it would be to walk on a high line that is suspended in the canopy between two trees. This requires tethers, clearance, etc but my main concern is the forces applied to the...
I definitely agree that hanging between two trees is easier then hanging up in the canopy of one tree. What are your thoughts on the safety of this? I have been called out by guys online for doing this because it causes unsafe loading on the trees ( according to them).
You sir are a genius :). Now I need to get an 8 mm rope.
I was using Sterling HTP but I am currently using a rope that a friend let me borrow and I don't remember the brand. It was like half the price though so when he gets back into the United States I will ask him
Thanks @CanadianStan,
Of the two hammocks REI sells i would definitely go with the quarter dome since bridge hammocks have a shorter footprint and are much easier to find a space up in the canopy. I always had a tough time finding branches far enough apart to hang a traditional gathered end...
Thank you so much for the photos! You are indeed quite crafty. Too bad it doesnt hold well on 9mm during SRT. I am beginning to think that a short piece of 11mm rope is in my future if I want to start using a ropewalking system.
I would love to see some photos! Although I must admit that I have used drt less than 3 times. Apparently it is easier for me to use something I know then it is to learn some simple techniques that would make my life easier, haha. Setting the cambium Savers was always the thing that kept me from...
I was so excited to offer up my reasoning for why I use RADS most of the time (100% rec climbing) but after reading through all the math and diagrams I feel like a 1st grader trying to explain why 1 plus 1 equals 2 to a Calculus teacher.
This thread is a goldmine! Not enough time on my lunchbreak to fully read it but I am surprised that a bunch of you guys dont bring a handsaw when rec climbing. I also dont bring one but I thought I was the oddman out.
I appreciate the compliments. I have been working my butt off to get everything up and running so it is great to get positive feedback!
That is a fantastic idea! I have played with different designs using a canister stove that hangs from the webbing on long mini chains. It worked well but...
Keep posting your progress please :) . I am planning on making one to fit a 9mm rope and am searching for all the tips I can get. ...The first company to offer an ascender/descender that works in a ropewalking system on 9mm gets all my money.
Yup! That looks to be the same thing...
There are some pretty simple and seamingly effective ideas being thrown around. I am excited to get outside and try them out. Thanks for all the ideas guys.
