    Indeed. I have a very dodgy lower back from years of foundry work and heavy machine work. The last seven years of rec climbing has been absolutely wonderful for my back health, and almost all of that was on a SAKA or Mini-SAKA. I am largely pain free now. Thank you Richard!!!!!

    Highest so far is about 120 feet on several occasions. Regularly climb up to 60 to 80 in my own trees, but can get higher on trees here on BLM land.

    My increased fear of heights has paralled my increased age. I had almost no fear at all of heights when I was a few decades younger but at 71 now I guess I am feeling a lot more mortal! The climbing has been great therapy for dealing with it; it's great exercise too, for keeping in shape.

    After rec climbing the last seven years, this is the thing that still bothers me. I feel safe if I have limbs around and below me, no matter how high. But climbing out in free air on a tree with the first limbs high up is still scary! All good advice above, from our pros on here.

    There are FAR too many parallels with Germany in the Thirties. All that is missing is the Great Depression. Americans are already used to shooting each other over things as trivial as road rage, a price increase at the gas pump, an argument with neighbors over the property line, etc.
