The hydraulic down pressure would help some, how sharp are your feedwheel teeth and what condition are your yoke springs in? Those two things will have quite an effect.
We have had quite a few of them through here now and overall I think they're pretty good, especially for what you can buy them for compared to other brands. We have a handful in stock right now if you want to head over to our website there should be a bunch of pictures of each model!
Yep just have to weld the rooster comb looking part to the discharge chute and the hinge of the flipper to the top of the discharge and you're good to go. And yep, it is Landmark, you can call 989-817-4586 if you have any questions on it!
Changing the knives every two weeks and blowing the radiator out aren't out of the ordinary. That is a good practice with any chipper. They live a rough life in a horrible environment. That 97hp Perkins will do fine as long you're not running solid 15" material through it all day every day which...
Unless you get an 1890 with the larger feedwheels it probably won't feed any better than the Morbark with one large feedwheel. The bigger the feedwheel, the larger the wood it can climb on it's own is. In my opinion, one large feedwheel trumps two small ones across the board.
Unfortunately that info won't do us any good as far as machine ID goes. You will need all of that info if/when you need anything for the clutch/pto though.
Did you install the tach or did someone else? It may not be programmed correctly or it might not be getting signal. Does the white wire from the tach go to a tach probe or the alternator or?
I stock them but not as cheap as the prices he has listed there. You'd be looking at $650ish plus shipping for both bearings. The one would already be cut also.
Call 989-772-8818 and ask for Paul, he has forgotten more about Terex/Woodsman machines than most people will ever know. And he'll be able to get you whatever you need to make it right.
There is no Murphy switch on that engine. If you're looking at the clutch end of the machine, take the left engine door off. There should be 2-3 relays in the bottom right hand corner if you are looking at that side of the machine. Make sure those connections on the bottom side of those relays...
That will be nice as long as it works, I've always like PT Tech PTOs. If/when it goes out it would be expensive to fix that one but we could set you up with a standard over-center style PTO when that happens.
