I pulled down, broke up, and piled all I could with the lasso from this one tree. The lasso slips off the small vines. There's still a bunch of small stuff hanging, and I set a line so I can climb through it cutting as I go. It rained later, so I'll have to put off climbing until it's not so...

With several more climbs I finally got all the limbs the HO wanted removed from these two pines. The heat and the gnats are brutal, but I'm getting stuff done. The next job is a little different. The HO had a land clearing outfit clear the low-lying back part of his lot a year ago, but they...

Buckingham quick release buckle safety notice

Thanks for that, but I'm still disappointed that the notice only gives part numbers for the affected equipment. As I said in the original post, the part numbers are pretty much useless in this situation since they don't appear on the equipment, on the package, on the sales paperwork, or in the...

To avoid damage to the shrub I decided to drop the larger tree into the side yard. I secured a pulley to the base of a tree near the fence so I could pull with the truck in the front yard. That got it down with clearance all around. It's a little further to haul stuff to the curb, but it's...

Started removing this magnolia this morning. HO doesn't want the shrub in the foreground damaged. Removed all the limbs I could reach with pole saw before it got too hot.

Buckingham quick release buckle safety notice

I got an email from Buckingham about this today. I believe this is the item affected. My saddle has silver pawls instead of the red ones shown in the inspection instructions from the email. It might be the email only applies to arc rated equipment, but the mechanics of the buckles appears...

Another climb, more stuff on the ground. This time I took my new 6" Kobalt 24-volt saw which weighs less than three pounds. Plenty of power with next to no kickback, just right for one-handed cutting. Now I can cut and toss smaller pieces without getting worn out from hand sawing. My wife...

And the removal of several more unwanted limbs live and dead limbs this morning. The homeowner was cleaning up as soon as I was on the ground. I didn't feel comfortable bringing up the chainsaw after all the hand sawing, so I'll make another climb to get some larger stuff Thursday. Gotta be...

Went after this dead broken limb early yesterday morning. I was also able to retrieve a stuck throw weight and line higher up using my extension pole. The butt end landed by the tree. Thank goodness the gnats don't follow me up the trees.

You bet. I worked up a real sweat even though I was finished by eight. Went home, toweled off, and went for a forty-five minute walk with my blind friend. It's difficult for her to get out earlier, but the walking is really good for both of us.

Spent a little time early this morning cleaning up a mess left by a tree service on the property next to where they were working. To the right of my rope are three broken limbs. It looked better after I was done. Of course there was a pile at the street to make the yard debris folks busy...

Lets see some shit... Shitty tree work picks from other companies in your area.

Perhaps a property line issue. The city kept them from cutting the stem over the line.

When you pull the trigger one side of the pieces holding the wire loop opens up. There's a roller on the parts to reduce the friction, so the pull needed is very light. It's designed for up to one hundred pounds tension, but I doubt I'll ever get close to that. From Amazon for $17...

I cut a gazillion suckers off these oaks. Fortunately a neighbor of the client hauled them off as I was cutting them, so no picture. I made a nice new foot loop to use with my double-hand ascender. And I got a new archery release for my BigShot. It works really well, even better than the...

    Throw line/ throw weight thread

No. My second weight is a plastic bottle filled with two pounds of wadded up thin scrap copper wire to make it softer. At the top is a small loop formed by pushing a zip tie through the cap.. I attach it to the throwline by pushing a loop of throwline through the zip tie and then around the...

Near the top of the tree on the left was a hanging dead limb. On the first climb I cut and dropped most of it, but couldn't get past an obstruction I couldn't see from the ground to get it all. After cleaning up, I decided to reposition the line for a second climb, and got the rest. The tarp...
