    Bid that tree!

I’ve been underbidding snowy cleanup jobs simply because it’s hard to see how much is actually there, so I moved to an hourly or per load cost on those That’s looking like a half to full day job?

    Bid that tree!

Seems like a big job! Based on just the photos I’d be thinking something like $2.5k per tree

Looks like a lot of wood? Any chance they want “leave wood onsite” discount?

    Bid that tree!

I know the photo doesn’t do it justice, wide angle lense is great for fitting the whole tree in the frame but awful for showing scale

    Bid that tree!

I was thinking it was a 4-6k tree.. it’s not really a difficult removal, with ample space to work and plenty of room between the big limbs and the roof but gawd it’s a girthy trunk and plenty to deal with. I can’t possibly remove this one since I have 0 equipment but I gave them a cut and leave...

    Bid that tree!

It’s about 15’ from the home and leans towards it, plenty of limbs and tops are over or near the plane of the home

    Bid that tree!

Piece out. technically it could be pulled against the lean and over the road but about 60’of it would land on private property . Tree is roughly 110’ tall

    Today....

More I’ve storm work. This client opted to just get this hanger down instead of removing the entire tree. I self rigged it just to be sure it didn’t take a bounce and smash some windows

    Bid that tree!

Ok I got one… Big white pine complete removal. It’s about 42” dbh with a slight lean toward the home which is about 15’ away. Good drop zone otherwise and in the front, flat yard

    Sycamore and Elm climbing.

I second that Tight unions on the elms can be a real problem, but American, red, etc elms are super strong and bendy, small TIPs are ok with me. Siberian, Chinese elms are less reliable. Elms tend to be super fibrous and good hinging wood, so cutting and rigging with them has its advantages and...

WTB logger’s belt, suspenders, tool or axe pouch

I was wondering how the weaver brand belt kits were. On my initial searches, it was pretty much the only commercial setup that was coming up, which surprised me some
