Having used both on a mini skid, Im going to have to completely disagree. Its not nice, its annoying. I drive a mini backwards mostly when dragging brush and feeding a chipper. Its very fluid to feed the chipper with a knockabout bmg. With the power one it wont free wheel as you turn. You have...
No need on a mini skid for power rotate as flushcut stated. We have been feeding our chippers for years with a bmg. They work great. We have added a mini ex to our lineup. We have a power rotate grapple on it. It still works well for feeding the chipper.
We took off today but it was supposed to snow here in Alabama. We really didnt get any snow but it was supposed to be a high of 9 here. It got a bit warmer but not a lot.
Its not on your way but these guys have 48 in smooth buckets.

Yamabond works great. Ive used it a bunch myself. Working at the Yamaha dealer for a couple of years when i was younger probably had something to do with that.
Thanks. To be fair, I also own a machine shop business. We have 3300 sq ft of machine shop and they are starting on an addition next week as we need more room. I figured this was kinda tree related since its for on of our tree trucks.
Its been raining here for almost two weeks. Kinda makes it hard to do much tree work. While we have had some down time, we have been fixing on our stuff. We have a 2001 f550 with a dump bed. It's parking brake pedal wasnt holding. It kept skipping so I pulled it out of the truck to see what was...
We usually just use them to store split firewood and then dump them in our f550 for deliveries. They have loops on the bottom to help dump thrm into the truck. The bags hold 1/3 of a cord and cost about $15 EA. We have our own wood lot that our tree debris gets hauled to. We then process it into...
I have gotten to use a 592xp. I was impressed with its performance. A friend of mine bought one and got about 2 hours out of it. Husky ended up eventually giving him another saw. The new one is so far so good.
I keep thinking about making a cube of sorts to carry our gear. We have two mini skids but we daily use a mini ex with a lot of attachments. We have a hanging grapple, 6 ft broom, stump grinder, 12 in bucket(normally left at shop), 24 inch bucket, and a set of scoups. All of it gets tied down on...
We spend more on equipment. Part of this is the local labor pool is terrible. Folks that arent are drawn away from this sort of work by high paying defense industry stuff. Theres zero way we can compete with these kinda of companies on a pay and benefits level. Theres almost no regulation in our...
Really? I dont think ive ever seen a bucket truck operator take a hand saw with them unless doing small pruning work. It's kinda awkward to take in a bucket as most dont have a great place to put it. I have several copies of the z but this requirement has slipped past me until now.
It works surprisingly well. We either throw the pieces in our bonfire after they season or just let them decompose in the chip pile. They burn much cleaner and easier vs whole stumps. I keep looking at horizontal and tub grinders to run this kinda stuff and logs that are no good for firewood or...
We finished up a big job early yeaterday. Got some time to deal with our wood lot. We keep accumulating stumps which dont stack well so I decided to split them with our screw splitter.
This is the end results of a good sized bradford pear stump.
