I either cut a V just inside a branch stub and use it to drt down or just spike and flip down. Either way I’ll keep the flip round the tree just in case.

Coincidentally, this one yesterday had me focused on the cut, slight backlean, gusty sidewind that had me sitting waiting for a calm moment.

Dont think about the sudden drop, the couple of seconds of pure terror, the réalisation (albeit brief) that a simple error on your part has cost you your life. The few seconds after you hit the deck of shouting and crying as your life ebbs away.
