Man, that seems so unusual compared to my area. It seems like everyone gets a year of limited experience and thinks they can/should step out on their own and start a business. In the end, what it means is that we have little more than 1-2 man tree companies who can't take on hard jobs because they lack the skills, can't do bigger jobs, and have very limited equipment to get it done.
It is comparatively easy in a community as small as mine, but I'm trying to build a company where skilled people who COULD run their own business don't bother, because they could work for me and make a living wage without the hassle of running a business themselves. Wish I had that opportunity, haha.
