The joke I got fired over

    Sounds awkward, but hardly reprehensible.

The joke I got fired over

As written, that’s not racist in any form. What was the context? Who were you with? Was it in writing or oral?

    Spurring non-removals

I remember à discussion about this on some FB forum. Someone said that it doesn’t do too much harm and they’ll survive. Someone else countered that you could punch a baby in the face and it would survive but that didn’t make it right. I thought to myself ‘that’s enough internet for today!’ and...

When the customer leaves to "take a walk."

I knock on the door, tell them we’re done, get them to approve the work so so speak, then say something along the lines of ‘ok, so we’re all set then……’ then silence. Usually they’ll say ‘ok….would you like a chèque?’ ’That would be lovely, thank you!’

Heavy leaner needs to come down sideways.

I would not be playing games or experimenting with a tree with a lean like that over property. Get a climber to smash it out for a couple of hundred bucks.

Why did you quit your job? As for the coaching, you (or someone) either has to pay for it, or you make yourself worthy of someone investing the time/money. There’s no entitlement or right to it. Remember someone could train you up and you could walk out the door the day after to join a rival...

Asking advice; seeking mentorship in the EU

Certainly time is not on your side. It’s entirely possible that you may find a company/institution that will take time and money out to give you more experience and train you. The majority of independent tree companies work on tight margins and dedicating a couple of years to a 43 year old who...

Because if you’re very young I’d say be patient, you can learn as well watching and asking questions. If you’re older there’s less time to play with, you may need to get on with it.
