    Today....

Spent some more time tackling a three or more generation trash heap next to a huge barn friends helped us demolish. This hillside was covered in layers of trash we have been cleaning in stages. Dumpster of the big stuff a few yrs back included fiberglass boats, ridgid foam insulation...

    Shipping a vehicle

That's pretty much the truck I'm looking at: 2007 5500 LBZ 6.6 4x4 which sounds like a quality engine.

    Salsco 6" Tracked Chipper - price drop - $23,000

It would be so great for our kind of island work, no rds, easy on/off barges. Just can't justify goddamnit

    Shipping a vehicle

Considering buying another chip truck and having it shipped. I got a long wheelbase f550 13k lbs from VA to NH in '20 for ~$1200 using UShip. Just got ballpark estimate of $1.60/mile ($480) CT to ME. @rugger01 you mentioned The Lemon Squad in another thread that checks out a vehicle for you...

    Bid that tree!

    Bid that tree!

$70/hr with overhead and quoting and liability etc is not enough! One tactic to basing price: target net income (subtract every stitch of overhead and taxes and buffer), divided by realistic months/weeks worked, then 6-7 hrs/day. Work more and that goes to savings or new equipment, travel etc. I...

    Best sources of employees?

For me: -safety was lacking -pay would never approach the amount needed to get a house in my area -almost all workers did side jobs to supplement (which was necessary to make any financial headway) -lack of flexibility, lack of positive/wage reinforcement for productivity/safety/attitude...

    Work Photos

28" bar in 2nd photo. ~15' cliff, couldn't get pictures to capture how backleaning and sketchy. Whip tackle to mini with side stay, needed a tie in on the ground to make the cut. Twitched up-out the lowest limbs and rigged a few smaller ones to minimize damage to the saplings etc.

    Today....

Haven't had issues in over a yr and now it's most of the time. If you select the photo and choose "large" size to upload instead of full screen or auto depending on phone it should work.

Do you think this year has been different for business?

You know sometimes the phone just doesn't work, or connection goes iffy all of a sudden. Then the rake breaks so no cleanup, but beaucoup bill.
