    hillside fir take down

This fir take down was part of a recent job of about 12-14 trees. Approximately 165 ft tall, but easy work. The log was the hard part....at least, safely getting the bottom part down the hill on my own today....rigging and roping of sorts. Lots of pics.

Not possible for me, but thanks....that's a very kind offer.

Luke I don't begrudge you selling at all. If they gave you a knock out deal then all the better. But its the way you did it I don't like. It seems only a short while prior you were tearing strips of Sherrill in another thread....but then in the next breath you sell up to the very company you...

I suppose it depends how much, or if you care at all who ends up getting the money you spent, Dave. If, like you say 'you don't give a shit', and all that matters is a good price, then yeah it doesn't really matter. But as is evident here and has been repeated already, there's a lot of...

Good for you mate. I just find it odd that you're talking, or at least I interpret your post like they're still 2 separate companies, contrary to the thread title 'Treestuff and sherril join forces'....but even that is misleading in the suggestion like it's a merger, or partnership etc. A more...

Who are now owned by Sherrill. So what's the difference whether you order through one or the other ?

That'd be all good and we'll if sherril and Treestuff were selling different products....but that isn't the case. It's the same stuff....but with different packaging and free stickers. Unless, you think tree workers are so dumb that they still see Treestuff as an alternative to Sherrill....one...

But is there any real point Nick ? Youre essentially all on the Sherrill payroll now....so why hang on to a name that is no longer independent. If Dave Shaw for example, bought Treestuff, then it would make sense to keep the name....but instead a rival company now owns treestuff, so why bother ...

Current News Regarding the SAKA Device

Richard, you're among friends here, mostly. You've given up a lot of your own free time over the years to pass on information to others. I know lots of tree climbers, myself included really appreciate your efforts. I hope this recent dispute hasn't or doesn't cost you too much financially...

    HAAS knee ascender patent

I worked closely with a patent lawyer of 30 years, a guy named Ron Graves. He explained to me from the start that just because a patent has been granted, it's not a guarantee that it'll stand up in court if the contestant can prove that there was prior art. Often is the case that only a very...

    HAAS knee ascender patent

Upon reading about the Hass a few years back, I was always puzzled by suggestions that the general concept was something quite novel. When in fact, what makes it work is the bungee....regardless of whether its attached or threaded through....something Beranek appears to have pioneered years...

I always assumed the HASS was an adaption of the Beranek Rope walker....which has been around for years. Which feature of the HASS does the patent cover, does anyone know ?

Speak for yourself....nobodies hating on anyone else. The only person using that word 'hate', is you, twice now. On an open forum you've got to expect people to say how they feel. Not everyone is a yes-man....like it or not.

No worries mate. I've got nothing else to say really. Like Xman I'm not much of a business person. My handshake is my oath....and you can count on it. I genuinely hope this all works out for everyone involved.

No problem Tom. Ward and I have both put our foot in it more than most. 5 mins later it's usually forgotten. My opinion and posts only reflect my situation and feelings I should point out too. Not everyone here is merely speculating, as you put it. If you read Wards last post also, it makes...

That's quite a significant point Mark, for some people. Let me give you an analogy. It's not the best one, but the most fitting to your circumstances that I can think up. Imagine if you'd formed an alliance with another tree company right in your area. The intention is to help each other grow...

Just because opinions differ from your own Tom....doesn't make the posters bad mannered, ignorant or the product of bad upbringing. Your perspective and how this deal effects you is just that and no more. Don't assume that it doesn't effect others in a far more negative way. A big fish...

No issue in principle with Treestuff being sold by the owner. Lots of members on here with family also. Many working in all weathers through the year, while risking life and limb (literally) to keep the wolf from the door. We do this FOR our families well being....selling up is hardly a viable...
