Cathedral Grove trees

Ok so I've been on Vancouver island for 3 days now and my oh my they have some really really big trees out here !!! They make our tallest trees back home look like shrubs !!! I have so much more respect for Reg and the other arborists working out here and what they have to work in daily. We went to cathedral grove today which was just amazing seeing the old growth Giants !!!

The big leaf maples were pretty impressive specimens also !

This place is amazing and hope to do a lot more exploring in the next week!

Its a cool place aye Devon. Hope youre enjoying the break. I worked there a couple of winters ago. We topped, blasted and felled quite a few hazard tree. Heres one such topping. Tree was aprox 230 or something close:

Wow yeah I think I remember that video Reg. I don't know if that top would hold my big butt up that high ! It's kinda magical walking through there for sure not ever seeing trees that big before ! My girls were pretty amazed as well of the sheer size of them! Hopefully we make it down to Victoria this week! I'll let ya know

Ok so leaving beautiful BC tomorrow ! It was so awesome here ! Met a lot of great people and saw some amazing sites !

Probably look like my place in 20 years ! Lots of old Stihls Mac 10-10's, some saws I've never heard of !

Bald eagles everywhere here! Just awesome birds !

Low tide .... Relaxing afternoon at the beach !
