Which „extras“ do you find essential for a wheel-loader ?

I like the heated seat on the Avant.

    Logos, branding, shirts, etc.

We have the truck with the logo on it and the crew usually wears company t-shirts or hoodies.

    Fu*%face Von Clownstick

This is really similar to our current pace. We are about to lose a guy going out on his own and if anything I’m looking at it as a positive.

    XM

My F-350 has this “feature” and occasionally gets bumped into that audio source and it is always blaring some stupid conservative talk radio bullshit. I’d probably get on board if there was a way to delete it or disable it.

    Weight calculation app

https://www.woodweb.com/cgi-bin/calculators/calc.pl?calculator=log_weight This one is nice because you can enter small end diameter and large end diameter. Would be interesting to check both with a crane.

    Show off them splices

Recently I have been resplicing my employees climbing lines. Did one yesterday that was so dirty that I had to wash it first. It was so filthy I couldn’t get the core out. Being a contract climber my gear lasted forever. I would throw out ropes based on age rather than because it was worn...

    Velcroed Tops, Spiderman and Treeson

The rules are there to protect the workers who otherwise can get really screwed if they get injured. I’m perfectly happy to play by the rules in both Oregon and Washington.

    Burning out

As mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, we hired someone else to do most of our sales and business development stuff for us and it has been helpful. The stress never goes away and I think we all just have to learn to manage it and the situations that cause it better. Overcommitting to...

ART BlackBird for "MRT and SRT"

Is this your review of the might be imaginary device that you may have been testing? Or is this your review of the Blackbird?

Hiring a climber/ employee from out of area

I would pay them at the level that is standard for the area for someone with their years of experience unless they need considerable coaching. Obviously there will be a learning curve but that is always there with any employee coming into a different work environment with new or different...

    Today....

Sometimes we do good things. Sometimes we do bad things. I think significant reduction pruning is preferable to removal and replacement in this case.
