What is wrong with my Dawn Redwood

Hi, I grew the Redwood from seed. It is now around 5 years old, 8' tall and has a serious lean, as well as a bare, smooth length of trunk that is several feet long. Also some browning. It has been getting water every day. An suggestions would be great. Thanks, Mike
