FWIW we're looking at a new F750 with cummins/allison and arbor tech box.
I've owned 1993 F350, 2000 F350, 2001 F550, 2002 F550, 2005 F550's in the past (some I still have). All have had issues here and there but pretty good trucks all around. When they're down though everything halts to a...
We're looking at adding another crew to our company and will need to purchase a second chip truck in order to make that happen. I've bought used trucks only in the past and have spent a LOT of time with repairs and $ and most importantly having to reschedule and miss out on projects because...
Got an email from Joe at Tristate to take down this old thread, since he DID send back the deposit after he realized how much negative publicity these internet forums can be for small businesses. Anyway, I almost emailed Mark and Tom about it but then got an email from someone a few hours later...
Yeah and you make a living selling older equipment so a little hard to take your advice seriously. New chippers come with warranties and don't have unknown hidden abuse over their life and the myriad of issues that always present themselves with used equipment.

I have a 68' italmec it's a great machine really allows you to do a lot of work in a short amount of time for many jobs. If you like climbing I would not get a spider lift because you will end up trying to find ways to use it on every job. If I were in the market to buy a lift I would buy the...
This Is an excellent opportunity for the right person. Seeking a well rounded candidate to supervise different tree Pruning and removal operations as well as the ability to perform the work in the field both in an aerial lift and climbing.
The candidate should be a Certified Arborist with a...
Wait Roger, if the ground guy is letting the piece run smoothly and consistently, what is the benefit of trying to add the step of 'rapid slack removal' which I'm assuming you mean to take up slack in the line as the piece is tipping over and before the rope has caught the piece?
This seems an...
Re: Think I\'m gonna retire
Maybe you need a few months to realize how awesome tree work is once working at another job? I know I feel burnout especially after pushing it hard day in and day out. It's good to step away and come back fresh, maybe you need an extended break. Just don't sell your...

Re: What\'s the real problem?
Boreality, you seem like a well written intelligent person so it's boggling to me why you would write the things you write, especially owning a business. If you don't like borrowing money from fat bankers, then don't borrow money from fat bankers? I don't get it, I...
I just bought a used Italmec R21 (68' working height). The machine has close to 2,000 hours on it, but is still in great condition. I am loving it more and more everyday. We can do a lot more work with less effort and get it into incredible areas. I'm very excited about this machine, and if you...
If you need to lift pieces on a regular basis I would go with the GRCS. If you need a device that can pretension quickly and easily, is straight forward to use for your ground guys, is one unit and can take any kind of abuse I would go with the HOBBS.
Thanks everyone for the support it means a lot. I did speak to Joe and he has sent a check in the mail and as soon as I receive I will let everyone know.
It doesn't make me feel comfortable or happy to trash anyone's business or have any negative effect on someone's livelihood, especially...
I hate to start threads like this, but I wanted to give others a heads up on these guys. I got scammed out of $2100 by this company selling equipment out of Philadelphia. Long story short, he pressured me into a deposit on a truck and couldn't produce any vehicle history report and gave...
