Pull the cap and check the 2 screws holding the rotor. Ours backfired so bad it sent pieces of the cat out the exhaust. They replaced that under warranty too.
We have the 15xp with the 160 hp 5.7. I don’t think we are using that much fuel.
Keep an eye on the distributor. Caps loosen up. We just had a completely new distributor put in our at 300 hours under warranty.
In the last 5 years I’ve seen more Elongate Hemlock scale regardless of what’s been done to the trees. That being said, sheared trees are certainly under more stress than a naturally growing tree.
Another thing to consider is that a property that is more manicured is more likely to have other...
If you do a bark application of Safari or Transtect at the high rate you probably won't have to do another application for 2-4 years. The chemical is only active for 3 months but it takes a while for the population to come back.
The black is sooty mold, most likely from the high sugar sap leaking from the tree. Without a picture of the leaves my best guess of dark spots would be tar spot, pretty common in wet summers. No treatment for either.
I think it's nice to use a clear hose so at the end of the treatment you can see the tree suck up the remainder of what is in the lines after you have turned off the pump. The only other thing I can think is to make sure the hose is pliable enough to get the ports on.
Hope you are feeling better. I look forward to coming to one of your talks another time. He didn't show any dissection but one of the pictures in the presentation showed this very thing. It was worked into part of his presentation regarding the importance of shelter or barrier trees and the...
I was at a talk by Neil Hendrickson last Thursday at the CTPA summer meeting (he was filling in Kevin i believe). He showed a picture of this exact thing and explained that it is reaction wood put down by a tree when the tree is literally "compressing" do to extensive weight over an area of decay.
Acelepryn is labeled for cats as a foliar spray. Our local ag station did a case study with it last year and got good control at 2 oz. per 100! Tough to get the tall trees but getting 75% will keep a tree alive during heavy infestations.
I clean my Tree IV at the end of each week with a complete tear down and soak at the end of each season with no problems. I only use Arbormectin or g4 in it though so there's no concern of cross contamination.
I'm concernd they are going to push us all into the new system as all the IV stuff was...
If you're bill was put into the bankruptcy there is nothing you can do. Get a copy from the bankruptcy court to verify that your bill was put in. If it was and you continue to contact him for payment you can be sued. Lawyers contact people who have gone through bankruptcy trying to stir up...
There are many variables. But it would be easy to determine the probability of failure with certain species.
As said before Bradford Pear comes to mind. Silver maple would be one of our indigenous species.
I just emailed John, the biologist who put out the fact sheet. It seems that some other samples came in from Mass that sound similar to what I saw but where attributed to a eriophyid mite. What I saw was definitely fatal though. I'm kinda disappointed that I did not pursue it more last summer...
