Re: I don\'t like the Rope Wrench
Sweet post man, glad you like it. You should definitely make it mid line attachable, and look into getting the thimble set up, makes it so much easier ascending.
Also, I don't know if you've done this yet, but look into the different anchor techniques for...
Maybe I'm wrong here, but couldn't the auger twist the k-boom or its connection point to the k-boom if it hit something? Just curious, not much experience with augers besides hand held models and I know those can twist and jerk outta your hands if they hit a rock or root.
I'll still rock DdRT from time to time, but in answer to your question X, I use either a base tie techinque, where I secure one side of my line to the base before I go up, or I use the friction saver ring/ring trick, which allows me to go through multiple redirects while only putting my weight...

Oh yeah, barring some things fall into place, Charlotte should be my kick off point for my cross country road trip.
Had an interesting little race today at work with a contract climber we use. He had his doubled rope set and foot locked up, while I had my SRT line set and just had the lanyard over the shoulder+pantin. He was over halfway up before I started up my tree, and I was at my first few cuts and ready...
One of my favorites. Biggest tree I climbed while doing storm work in Central Park, probably a good 75 to 85 feet to the TIP, really fun climb and some great times on that trip. Have a few more I may post up later from the same trip.
That sux, pic doesn't want to attach. I'll try to figure it...
Globe access line is some wicked stuff. Not only is it super, super static, its insanely expensive. I climbed with a guy while I was up in Central Park who used it, said he payed like $400 or $500 for a roughly 240ft hank. He loves the stuff though. As an access line, I don't think it can be...
I've tried that trick, never got it to work for me. I always start with my bottom(flat) cut first, and then complete my slanted cut, no problems with accuracy here.
Oh, and great vid bro, keep them coming!
wow, seems like this thread took a big turn somewhere along the line.
great purchase Cameron!! Gonna have to let us in on some work pics when you get her in May, looks like a sweet rig for what you bought it for.
btw, I believe Cameron bought this crane with the idea he wouldn't be backing it...
Thanks guys, think I'm going to try the Pitbulls out. I really liked the coverage they provided. Also liked the Jawbones a lot, but the Pitbulls are just a tad nicer for me.
Oh, just FYI, anything I order is prescription, but as far I know, nearly all the Oakleys can be ordered with...
