My dad's been working with us a lot the last year, whenever we arrive at a job he always takes time to have a good look at how we can approach things in the safest and most efficient manner, not that he'd ever use language like that....he just likes to take his time to see the bigger picture -

Awsome Pictures!
I agree looking at X's photo the rigging stem looks quite small but it was a descent size diameter. Different perspective of same tree. Probably 3/4 done here. Large wood!

I think the Pacific Northwest shots are awesome!

I don't have many climbing/working photos form 2011. Most of this year was running around doing bids, office time, and gaining weight.

I've got a bunch of photos of capturing trees at the right moment. Here's a Autumn Blaze Maple in July. I was driving (between bids) an couldn't help but pull over. I like the contrast so much I had to take a photo.

Can you guess what it's suffering from?

But, I found something fun from last March. This was a leaning leader off a multistemed Cottonwood. It was one cut. We simply rotated it 90° and set it down in the driveway. Bucked it, chipped it and loaded the logs in about an hour. Total weight was 10,000lbs.

Descending after dead-wooding a Sequoiadendron giganteum. This tree suffered flood damage and has been declining over the last few years. My friend, Ralph, is just above me on the opposite side of the trunk.

Lightning struck Sequoiadendron giganteum. I am standing at 40m (130'). This was the tallest tree on the island at 46.5m. The Sequoia in the background is now the tallest on the island at 45m, I believe.

I like this one as it means two things: 1, helping out a friend. And 2, my felling skills are getting better. It was a small pine but I judged the lean right and put it right between the panels. Stump was level, quick clean up, and BBQ for lunch. Nice day...

BlackOak, The first two pics are both from the Oregon Siskiyous, a little west of Grant's Pass. The pic below is from the same tree, also courtesy of Auggie.

BTW I'm about 5'6" and 140 pounds; that may be the FIRST TIME anyone has called me 'Big Will'. Banner day!

A friend took the photo.

Where'd you climbing some Giant Sequoias Taylor? Assuming Cali somewhere?

Those two trees were in southern Germany.
