Very little flex, not quite a snap but little flex. They get punky down low quickly.

    Vandals. Grrr!

So what’s the treatment plan? Some bark tracing, chiseling out the loose bits? I’ve worked some real mush bags of catalpa,

    Vandals. Grrr!

I gotta ask but have you had a certified arborist come out and assess the tree?

Grapple - anybody have an Avant's grapple?

Interesting, I boxed the skinny tine after I tweaked one and received a replacement. They seem to hang even, tho I do understand why you would want one hanging lower. But I feel like a cowboy sometimes when I lasso a grapple load from an off angle. That quick little wobble of the mini as you...

    Vandals. Grrr!

See now you are thinking “I” would “enact” violence upon a child, preteen, or whatever the hell they are which is illegal. A pound of flesh can be gotten legally through the court system. But none of that will help the tree.

    Stump clean up efficiency

Charge accordingly. Bill for the removal, bill for the grinding, bill for the clean up, and bill for dirt. I draw the line at seed or sod because there is no guarantee that they will get watered.

    Stump clean up efficiency

Another thing I’ve seen is using a leaf sucker for stump clean up. There is a municipality by me that uses one on the regular and it does an amazing job. I do not know the make or the model of the vacuum but it’s old and beastly. It’s a tow behind unit and quite large, roughly the size of a 18”...

    Stump clean up efficiency

My scoops are daily drivers, my high capacity bucket sits in the weeds on the regular. Just today I loaded out 35 yards of unchippable crap with the scoops.

Another trick when using the Scoops is to turn the scoops so they are perpendicular to the machine and open the grapple. One scoop is in the air and the other is acting like a dozer blade. Push into the pile and close. I do that for snow often.
