I agree with masterblaster,my brother in law will not be able to get all of the hardware out of his leg until this fall. He only fell from four feet but landed on the edge of the turf and pavement. Give me a rope and saddle keep the ladder!

Just pull out a J.C.Whitney catalogue,pick all the parts you could replace that up the horsepower and fuel economy. In one weekend of beer drinking some tools and hanging with the guys you should have 1500 horsepower and still getting 55 mpg. If you believe what you read?
I have done the self prepared tax and thought I was saving(yeah right) the money is well worth it.The accountant finds twice the tax savings,both for the biz and now also my personal taxes. I'll never do them myself again.(knocks on wood: as long as my income stays where it is.)

Take a nice afternoon and set your line, tie the hitch you like, and just get the technique down. Footwear is a big issue, some grip better than others, large heals will cause you to wrap closer to your toe. Plus every hitch is a little different and react different to different...
For personal use I would stick with a figure 8. About the only time I use one is during SRT on a spar during a removal. I'll always decend on my climbing hitch. But if your looking to have some fun with repelling talk to those rock climbing guys.
