Is that the one where you use the rock climbing style of re-anchoring with a sling and carabiner? I was thinking of doing that, but using a 30' piece of dynamic line for that last stretch where I will start placing slings, though still using my regular lanyard to keep me stable and steady in any...
I was considering using a short-ish piece of dynamic rope for climbing the last 6-10 feet of conifers for cone collecting work. Gonna hopefully get my chance this summer, and though I have climbed to the last three feet of the tops of Ponderosa pines before, I imagine that with the nature of the...
Knots can also be untied if the line needs to come back through a tight union. I work with a guy who prefers them for that reason, and for the record, I have gotten a spliced eye stuck in an especially tight union.
It always hurts to hear this kind of news about one us. I hate hearing that anyone isn't doing well, but when it's another climber, it seems to hurt a little more.
Maybe I'm out of the loop, but at this point how many of Epstein's co-conspirators have been charged or indicted? The DOJ may have redacted names in the files, but they know who is named behind the blackout lines. Do any Magats have any insight as to why we aren't seeing absolutely anyone...
Splicing is probably easier than you think it is, and there is a cool feeling I get knowing that I spliced that eye. Take comfort in the fact that as long as it meets certain minimum standards, it should hold more load than any knot you'd wanna use there.
I feel the same way about my Arbortec rain 'smock'. Sure it's 'two years old', but I live in nearly desert conditions and have had it in my closet for all but about 20-25 total days of work.
I like that distinction- Discipline & Motivation. Discipline is definitely what covers the gaps in motivation, but I feel that discipline drives motivation. As in your example, discipline gets me moving on the mornings when motivation is lagging, but ultimately there is a bigger picture that...
I was raised bilingual, so I don't know the stuggle myself, but I have seen people get to a place of functional language usage by using apps and watching movies. I have also had friends spend months in countries where they spoke spanish, and come home not really knowing more than a handful of...
I use the method that Muggs described for my setup at home. I have an insane squirrel population, and I don't trust them not to stuff an acorn in a pulley.
I can't say that I know of any specifically, simply because I haven't looked, but I have seen a lot of random guys on youtube of course. I don't follow many channels, but I know it isn't hard, and it might also help you to find good videos to share with your guys. I think with all the visible...
I have also seen a noticeable decline in max firing height when it's halfway cracked through, but I know that is a negligble concern for you, not trying to hit shots over 150ft.
