    Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

My setup is a RW ZK-1 with a ABR/Treestuff 12" stiff tether and HC pulley. Been using 28" 8mm beeline e2e on Samson Velocity with a 4-wrap Distel. It works OK at first but eventually gets very bindy and the hitch constantly needs to be loosened up. There is so much friction that it won't work...

Break in period on new clutch springs?

I would second that on the Stihl OEM parts. Just curious, what was wrong with your old clutch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BEST adjuster for pitchy rope lanyards?

I have always run a wire core and a GIBBS on conifers and never had a problem with sap. I don't see why you couldn't run one on a rope lanyard. They are rugged and not too pricey.

    Sanitizing Pruning Tools

Very true! We have disinfected between cuts before on some really nice ornamentals, but it was just a quick dip in bleach water, not a 10 minute soak. I have heard that some use Lysol spray. A spray would be nice because a bucket of bleach water takes up a lot of room in the truck. There...

    Sanitizing Pruning Tools

I have read all about it on numerous occasions and have not yet found a conclusive answer. I understand that a bleach solution is an accepted method but I am curious about the phytotoxicity of the bleach. Also bleach takes a lot of downtime to actually be effective and can be corrosive to...

    Sanitizing Pruning Tools

What is the best way to disinfect pruning tools between trees? We have always used bleach water when a situation called for it. I have heard that bleach is phytotoxic. Is there a better way?

Argus Picus or other Sonic Tomography Gear

I had the privilege of attending a level 3 advanced assessment course which included multiple demos of the PICUS, Resistograph, and static pull test system. I walked away with the feeling that I would want to have access to all of this equipment before undertaking a level 3 assessment. Each...

    Winter Weight Saw Pants

I have always liked these pants for winter. I treat mine with waterproofing spray. No amount of long johns will make Gladiator Vents work in the winter here! http://www.labonville.com/Insulated-Black-Nylon-Pants-W-Snaps-WN600P_p_73.html...

We use the white bottle Powerservice at every fill up. Double dose in the winter. Same manufacturer as 911. The better fuel places here cut their diesel with kerosene in the winter so some guys don't add anything to their fuel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wish mine would have gelled up that morning! Found coolant in the oil so I shut it right down. It does not have to be zero degrees to have a fuel problem if you got bad fuel, lots of condensation in fuel tank, etc... Also wind chill is the enemy. We carry jugs of 911 and spare fuel filters...

    GIS-based Tree Inventory/Mapping/Work Order Software?

Nice. Is there a way to make it work with a Garmin if there is no cellular signal? So far the best option I have found for this scenario is still Treeworks which is an ArcGIS add on .... And this works best with a Trimble or similar handheld unit. These have a better GPS than a phone or...
