New Truck Painted!! Please Help!

I was eyeing that baby. Nice little unit. What did you buy it for? I know there two places can do it, I dono about pricing. I used to deal with them when I worked for a steel fabricator.

Also, When I called Nortrax (Morbark dealer) they recomended a few other places. Was quoted about 2500-3k to paint my chipper.

Thanks for that! I will look into those places. I just picked the truck up yesterday. Drove 3 hours with no problems at all. Scoots right down the highway!!

Im planning on getting a bucket truck after january 1. Saw this pig this morning on CL. I like the fact that its small and rear mount. 15k is cheap. For that kinda money I could sink money into having the boom checked out and make her pretty.

Not sure if your interested but I am selling this. 65 feet of boom, reconditioned engine with low miles. Cat 3116. Truck has been super reliable. I am going to do a few small things to it to make it perfect for whoever buys it. It will also come with a fully passed boom inspection. I would be right around the 18-20K mark with this. Thing is, if you bought it from me you wouldn't have to do anything to it but put it to work.

@ROYCE curious if you found somewhere to have your truck painted?
Also, I just saw this, don't know if it applies to you or not:

Hey Mate! Thanks for the heads up on that. Mine is a 2007, and was designed after the failure of those knuckles. I have a few places I have been in contact with in regards to painting. I was going to paint the cab, but its in such nice shape I have decided to just paint the boom. But I am thinking of holding off to the spring.

That's good. That figure does seem crazy. I will say that Brian has been an excellent resource for me and he really knows his shit about everything ALC.

Gets expensive quick I know the guy I bought mine from did over 10k in hose work and they didn't even replace all of them.

Yup, the company I just bought this from put over 12K in new cylinders, cables and a few hydraulic valves. But, if you think about what these trucks do for us and how productive they make us, its money well spent.

Have you gotten the truck painted yet? I wanna get my boom & cab painted this spring.

My truck cab is white. So, I opted to just keep it the white as it matches the crane. It will have our nice log put on it so it will stand out. The boom is yellow which I really hate.....but had to pass at this time because of cost. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the kinda money they were asking for paint. Now, I know they would of done a nice job...but it was just outrageous.
I also tried to get three estimated from three different companies. After calling them a few times each, only one got back to me...and that was at a price of 3500 for just the cab and 2500 for the boom. But depending on how the boom went he said be prepared for 3000 on the boom. So around 6 to 6500. Again, I did not get any other prices because no one would get back to me...and I feel like I shouldn't have to beg to get someone to give me a quote. I got frustrated and decided to keep it as it is.

Royce don't you have a shop now??? Paint it there, yourself. You can use an airless sprayer. Was thinking of painting my chip truck that way. Now it's just gonna get done at my buddies shop.

Yeah, we are looking into it. But will have to wait until winter now.....truck is booked almost everyday.

Royce, your crane saga has been fun to follow and its great to hear you are so busy. Now that you've had the crane for awhile, I'm curious how it has changed your biz and your role in it. As a crane bangs out massive amounts of work, has it been a challenge to keep up with sales? Are you in the field less or are you still on the jobs a lot or always? Just curious, thanks.
