    treeMotion Wear-n-Tear

Well, sitting on the fence here as much as a TM owner/fan can..! I can only observe that a few very literate and seemingly fairly experienced arbs have what is fair to say, 'concerns' which could, or have, developed into complaints or worse, but which are probably softened from the fact they...

    New Rope?

Tachyon, low low stretch, light light weight, very round in the hand (ooerr) and doesn't bunch after initial milking (grink). Mine does seem to be wearing quickly though, tiny puffs and abrasions, maybe not the tightest weave of outer braid?? Shiv in the wet though as all these skinny rope are.

    VT Knot Question

Ice tied 3 wraps two crosses with the hitch climber pulley on Tachyon rope is THE best combo i've found in approx 6 years of VT use. Only lasts about 2 weeks of good climbing though before it binds up and it becomes a bin magnet. I'm afraid I don't know the PI rope you speak of but different...

    Cocoon Pulley Use Question

Oh come on guys! I've seen the prices you command as tree workers/climbers over there!!!! As a piece of kit that you are swinging from every day, surely you can justify its expense and buy the proper job ? It's a bit like copying a CD..yeah you get cheap music but the quality is compromised...

    Having fun trying friction hitches

For me the Ocean Systems Polyester just didn't do it on the Velocity in either diameter on any VT combi, I went back to Hercules Liros 8mm which absolutely flies...for a week and then you have to bin it!!! Just trying Samson Bail-out and it seems awesome, just like the Liros but heat resistant...

SHARP???? Bit strong isn't it chaps?? I'm seeing fibre compression and mild glazing but we're not talking 'knife through butter' here are we!! More like Ferrari tyre wear!!! company won't allow Treemotion

Re: company won\'t allow Treemotion TreeCo, they're not the recall aluminium sleeve Petzl Ball Lock are? If not, do as The Tommy D says but lube with dry graphite powder as it tends to attract less dust debris and still penetrates well (ooerr!!)

Thank God! (and Petzl) for a good helmet!

Mike Poor, did you have your Vertex straps done up? I was smacked squarely on the head by an errant Willow limb with my previous Petzl Ecrin, It was the combination of its excellent shell and chin strap configuration that stopped the limb smudging it (my Ecrin) off my head and causing me untold...

    commercial work at night?

We did a night of tree dismantles which were fairly broad but not huge on the edge of a four lane ring road (freeway I think you'd call it) in the middle of Istanbul, Turkey!! I found the old fashioned Petzl head lamps with halogen bulbs to be invaluable, your eyes soon get used to the...

Hi there Grover and PUClimber, listen, I have and use pantin/ISC ascenders/Petzl ascenders (various) (and PU I know about and have used the SRT ascended DRT climbing system you mentioned but don't find it personally useful) and are fully aware of the boot issues Groves but you may be slightly...
