Buy the Panther bar and chain. No bumper drive links or other safety nonsense .
It honestly cuts like a dream.
As far as sharpening it with 5/32, personally I found this too big and use a 3.2 mm BUT on a guide plate (which I never use ) but found on this tiny pitch chain it really helped.
As...
This is great info.Thank you. I think anything less effective than the Zig Zag for me , would be a backwards step though . All be it I may get longer usage . I’ll just have to put £1 extra on each day to pay for the annual Zig Zag
Hi Crimson King,
I had the older smaller model which slipped so replaced it with the ZZ plus which now slips .
I think the problem is that the Cousin Atrax is on the smaller side for it, but it’s the best rope I’ve ever used so don’t want to replace it as it feeds so wonderfully .
Hello, I’m trying to find info on how efficient the RRP is on double or moving rope.
I can only find a couple of questionably competent ‘climbers’ on You Tube who don’t seem to have their craft on point.
I am about to replace my ZigZag after yet again, one slipping after less than a year.
I’m...
Okayyyyy, a) is it not relevant to negative rigging of blocks and b) could you give me a hint where to find the ‘old thread’ please ?

What did happen to the Reg Coates pry bar?
I thought it was a great looking piece of kit for blocking down.
Like a miniature felling lever but the end was 90 degree off set so you used it to the side and cantilevered the piece giving better advantage, all be it at the expense of greater height...
Ah.....I’ll happily send you my rope end but the postage might be slightly off putting alas.
I’m in England [emoji2527]!

ha YES!!! I thought it was just me but I also find this rope really bouncy....too much so.
I’ve milked a metre off a 45m hank and also notice bunching which slows my ZigZag.
Better since washing but I’m also disappointed with this rope and look forward to replacing it with Cousin Trestec Atrax ...
I’ve tried to copy a link but can’t find a way to do so.
I’m going to try a pair anyway as you seem a man who’d know a good glove [emoji6]
Just out of interest, what climbing method do you prefer as some obviously are more glove wearing than others?
(Below is one of the nay sayers review...
I’ve not heard of these but boy am I going to order a pair today.
Thank you.
Only thing is does that silicon not wear out within a fortnight? And also, why not the Ironclad Gripworx?
STOP PRESS:-
I’ve just read some VERY discouraging reviews of the Box Handlers BY box handlers !!!
They are...
As another person has recommended, the Recoil lanyard will give you full stretch from the rear attachment point but is actually TOO long. I cut mine down and re-knotted the end. It’s meant lanyard issues are almost eliminated and I’m never stopped from reaching a cut.
They’re a bit over-priced...
I’m afraid you’ve used that failed point incorrectly. That area is a saw stow/hitch point and like has been already said, the saw is supposed to attach to the rear.
The failure has arisen from repeated shock loading from the full weight of the saw on an area that is only designed to have the saw...
ISC alloy snap hook onto 25’ of 11mm through a Trango cinch.
I tail all the spare into a bolt bag that draws up one handed and opens one handed. I also attach a police type dog clip that I have filed the jaws on to fit the rope, this stops the rope pulling out past a point but is released one...
That is a gritty grass roots response that is straight from the belly of the sort of climber that stays alive and doesn't walk with a swagger . Lovely stuff and to be well heeded
Almost certainly squirrels. Shoot em and eat em. (As long as they're not Red Squirrels that is!!). We have felled many a tree because of extensive die back caused from squirrel ring barking. They also cause localised decay onset at the bark stripped area, which leads to branch failure, esp...
From your photo which is not too detailed, it looks from a distance like normal flaky bark associated with Pinus resinosa and yes, a bit like Scots Pine as Boston Bull mentioned. I guess if the cambium layer is not perilously close to being exposed then the protective properties of the bark are...
Any chemical applications that you could recommend. We are not big on chemicals in the UK so info is scarce. Am I to pressume the soil treatment would be systemic or does it just stop the bugs over-wintering in the soil??
Many thanks for your time and input by the way.
URGENT!!! Does anyone know about long term ramifications and potential control measures of Cedar aphid believed to be Cedrum laportei which are causing up to 80% browning and defoliation of 75' (25m) Cedar of Lebanon ( Cedrus libani) Trees in question stand in open parkland in UK.All...

BUT it in no way looked decayed or weakened enuff to warrant removal.

Erm, did you see the final piece removed? From where I sit it very much appears that the section was decayed far beyond Matthecks one third diameter failure reaearch as did several other pieces did...
