The only thing I don't like about the carbon Geckos is the thickness under the heel, Swing mentioned that some while back. In retrospect I would have gone with the aluminum. I would like to try the KK's.
I wish I had this in high school, I would've abseiled the hell out of there. Joking aside this pack has got my tree brain wheels turning. Maybe a pack like this could be in the general discussion someday...I'll start by calling it the SRT XP LUMBER PACK...

I made that mistake a long time ago...hinge broke, tree twisted no pull rope. Broke metal roof, rafters, collar ties, soffit, racked the top plate about 1/2", neighbors trust and my confidence. I learned a lot that day. My carpentry skills improved quickly. Pro bono from start to finish.
Sounds like an honest living to me, the best tree folks I know admit they're slow...and they're still alive to tell me so. And when you take your time your line will tend to flow.

I think tenex tec would have a nice feel to it while swinging as well. If I make another one I might go bigger than 14mm and experiment with other brands.
