    395xp sprocket replacement

You don't need any special tools. I have 3 395's. What you do is if you have an impact wrench is simplest. I believe it's 3/4" socket in FORWARD (clockwise) to take off the clutch First pull the starter cord out a little so it doesn't possibly break the cord. Don't use the impact to put it back...

How high is the highest crotch at comp?

I don't know. My score book for this year is supposed to be sent out by march 15. They have to be available somehow because the florida and georgia comps are this weekend. I'd like to get them as soon as possible.

How high is the highest crotch at comp?

It depends on that particular tree 60 up to 70 or so is what I've saw for the 7's. Keep in mind though they are changing the throwline rules this year so now instead of 3 levels there will be 4. Will be interesting to see what it will be like!

    Climbing and Hunting

Thats why you work alone so much jesse! When I have time to hunt I use climbing skills. To be honest thats why I bought my first set of spikes years before I knew any better. Thankfully I only used them a couple timesused because the cutout scared the daylights out of me. I haven't done any...

    Urban Tree Falling

I agree 100% Logging applications are way different than in a residential application. There are things that are the same but you have to be 100% sure that that tree won't hit the house etc. Which rules out certain techniques. Back to the beginning it all depends on your skill and confidence in...

13,000 year old oak tree living in California

Reminds me of this pic of a stump that had wound wood I saw in California. Truly these were connected somehow.

    Mini dependent??

I think it could go either way. I think you NEED to know how to do it without equipment but they are really nice to have and save your back. If the old tricks do not get passed to the new guys then they WILL be dependent on the equipment. Like when I'm working with Noel he's got one and it's...

How bout these for climbing jeans?

Thats a good thought blinky. I haven't had mine long enough to wear them out. I just dont like denim. My dickies hold up great but could use a tad more room in the legs. They would last me 2 1/2 years everyday in the log woods and double front carhartts would be trashed by 6 months.

BEWARE OF HRC Eye to Eye tails

I quit climbing on 10mm beeline for that exact reason. two in a row developed that bubble after a short time. They were just knotted eye N eyes no splice involved. Climbing on ice now.

    True Blue vs. Poison Ivy

In my book PI all the way. I like the LOW strech. Althought the size does take some getting used to it is not as bad as velocity, it's about in the middle. I had to wear gloves for awhile after switching from 16 strand to PI but would never go back to climbing a rubber band.
