Never mind. Lol. Just seen how some people repell by wrapping the running end of the rope over the top. I guess that applies the extra friction to not worry about.
But what if you don’t wrap it, and just pinch on a single line? Would that decend too fast?
So let’s say a piece was 5 or 600lbs and you would usually use 2 wraps and a block up top. With the safebloc up top, how much would you wrap the porter-wrap?
Another question would be how much friction is actually added. Example: when drop-catching; let’s say a your taking a top that you would usually put two wraps on the porter (if using a block) would you still use two wraps with the safebloc or 1&1/2?
I assume there is a learning curve with this...
Me and my buddies at 2017. I’m in the middle.
Just found this video of arbfest2017 on YouTube and snatched the photo. Hahah.
Good memories of Mitch being tempted to throw bio-degrade oil into the crowd!!!
So when slinging up a porty or a block in the crown SOP is to choke your cow/timber hitch around the eye splice; not below it. I have always understood that choking below the splice would be asking for failure. But with the safebloc that is essentially exactly what you are doing?
Am I missing...
My buddy bought some a couple months ago. One day went to put them on and the Velcro stayed attached to itself and came off from the glued side. Again... a lot of $$ for, well... you know.

Seems like it will be some basic to semi-intermediate climbing technique. Probably pretty cool for newer climbers. But there will also be Aerial rescue! Which is always good to brush up on IMO.
And it is a...
Dang. If you don’t mind me askin, what type of legal frustrations are occurring?
WC is frustrating at times for me too. I was home over a month before they figured out PT. Their transportation outsource was real shotty at first. Requests for tests or continuations on PT get lost in the mix of...
Well, the doing stupid stuff part of it all is unfortunate:tonto: But I’m glad he is doing better. If he truly is making life threatening mistakes perhaps some wisdom will be sent his way.
