It's true that the sequoia doesn't have any lower D's or Paws in the same way that one might find them on other harnesses, but you certainly can clip directly into the open rings with your flipline to get the same function.
I do side jobs like that all the time. 8" base topped-to-hell fruitless Mulberrys all over the local residences that have gotten so ugly that leaves don't hide the truth anymore. 20 minutes with a Stihl 170, quick cash. I guess the issue is, how do you define/draw lines around the phrase...
I've been in mine (new version, non SRT) for a year now, and I still love it. It may not have all the funky attachment holes the treemotion does, but with a little ingenuity, it's just as customizable as anything else out there.
I don't really see a need to replace any parts other than the...
The isc double pulley howie mentioned would definitely solve that problem...but that drawing of a "partitioned double biner" is insanely intriguing. I would definitely carry one. Wonder if we could con someone into building in a roller, like the revolver...
Considering your love for the Zig-zag, ^^^this suggests to me that you've never tried a Zillon. ;) Care to elaborate on "Mechanicals are terrible lanyard options"? Is this a tree sap issue, or something else?
As for the Spiderjack...that really is pretty big. Slick, but big. I'm intrigued...
I've found it doesn't slip in single-leg if you've got it on a softer, more spongy rope that gives in to bite a bit more, like the Yale 11.7's, Tachyon, etc. It's the stiffer lines like static kernmantles and smaller diameter ropes that it slips on. It slipped a little on 11.1 Tendril, but my...
Great video; loved the blooper, but the info was great.
While we're comparing these, I came across a version of the Ropeman ascender on the sherrill site through DMM rather than wild country, which I've not seen before. Is this more trustworthy/reliable than the previous iterations which...
Besides being hilarious, is that CMI ascender making your Zillon a 2-in-1, or is that rope from something else entirely?
As for on-topic, that video showing the clipped-off overhand knot seems to be the way to go. Just gave it a try in the backyard...loved it.
Has anyone had a chance to play with the (relatively) new Sterling Scion? Apparently, it's similar to tendril, but in 11.5...haven't heard about it anywhere but on Sterling's website. That being said...the color schemes are pretty awesome. I liked Tendril, but I'd like something a tad fatter...
Well, I tried it out today...it didn't get in the way, cost me nothing, and I used it once, so maybe it's a keeper. Makes a fifth loop in my lanyard, which lets all the loops hang just a little higher, which I certainly liked. Thanks for all the thoughts.
Had a little revelation, while I was...
I've never seen anything on sterling or yale's sites mentioning "maintaining and replenishing essential oils in rope fibers"...but then again, I'm obviously just joining this bandwagon, so what do I know?
As for the dog snap, I've seen that on your harness, and if I had a spare I would. As it...
Didn't want to resurrect an old thread to ask this, so apologies for creating yet another thread on lanyards...
I'd like someone to try to sell me on the double-adjustable concept. I understand how various versions work...that's not the issue. What is the point? I can't think of many reasons...
Find a picture of a Kong ascender attached to a Treemotion lower 'D', and then picture that as all one piece...that'd pretty well do it. Maybe make it open with a bolt or pin so it'd be usable on a variety of harnesses. I'd buy some...no question.
