... but NOT when you come in with something to bring to the table. Pay someone for what they can bring to the table an not from a survey.

Exactly.

Tires work well on smaller stuff... but it is questionable on really big wood... depends a lot on how stable the base is..
I prefer to make a bridge... plus moving tires to and from a job is a hassle compared to using what you have on hand..

If you want really small trucks, then the N-series would do well.
However, I would not suggest the N-series Isuzu Truck, if you want higher GVW and more horse power. I've got the FRR and it has a 19 cubic yard chip box.
You can't hold that much chips in a N-series.
Our truck has been...
Rob, I guess that is true... But, I have a feeling that the majority of the companies who partake are larger companies. And with that said, I feel as if they are the companies who, for the most part, are more responsible.
Let's pretend all "tree service" companies took that survey: Do we...
I'll specify at times; If I feel the customer may not have a whole lot of money to put into the tree. For example, if I see an old Cottonwood with huge hazards... I'll break it down in 2 ways: Hazard Prune down to 2" diameter or their choice to clean out all dead wood... say down to .5"...
Was this ever published?
I can only find 2009 as their current report.
Also, I'm wondering how accurately these surveys are representing the tree care industry as a whole. If I remember right, they barely get over 100 business to respond. I'd imagine the U.S. has ten's of (if not well over...

Bacterial wet wood can damage or destroy the cells' ability to regulate osmosis, leaving the wood 'saturated' and heavier than normal. Was the tree a gusher?
[/ QUOTE ]
It was a populus deltoides (Hybrid Cottonwood). I've seen Plains & Hybrid truely "gush" water before. This...

Throwline setters?!

We could have a 100% throw line average with those.

And this is my point of the thread... As an arborist I'm bothered by the idea that the tree can take on 150% more weight in spring growth flush (or at any time).
I e-mailed Dr. John Ball about this. I hope I don't get lost in his busy e-mail. I'd like to see how he responds to this. He'd know.

Yep. He said the scale is certified as well. He said, if there were a hydraulic failure of some sort, the computer wouldn't allow him to move. Therefore, the scale must be...

I wanted to badly. Tensions were building, so I didn't push it... But, I've been working with this guy for many years now. So, I'm taking him for his word. If it happens again though, I'll have to really wonder and ask if I...

Maybe I'm wrong here, but couldn't the auger twist the k-boom or its connection point to the k-boom if it hit something? Just curious, not much experience with augers besides hand held models and I know those can twist and jerk outta your hands if they hit a rock or root.
