What not to do with a TIP redirect.

Got it thanks. I thought the tail was a separate rope and not included in the configuration.

What not to do with a TIP redirect.

I must be missing something in that pic, because I would have guessed that to be a two to one e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_advantage_device#/media/File:Four_pulleys.svg

    Spurs unified with boot

Moss, I love you man. I mean that in a manly way of course. Halfway through the video I expected you to duct tape the saw to your hand to eliminate the need for the saw lanyard. :-)

    Buzz products and tricks.

So how do you descend upside down? And you gotta love the self-moving camera too.

    Weight of a pine tree

There is an app for that...well kind of https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.norwoodsawmills.calculator&hl=en One of the major sections is weight of logs by species. Of course you want the canopy too, but I find the log chart useful in the app for rough estimates.

Foot ascender and half-hitch (Moss method??)

Sorry Moss but I must be an idiot please help or help what you can :-) ...but it appears like the knot on your left foot is different from you right foot. On the right it goes under the boot, then over and locks as it comes over the top of the rope again. With the left foot pic it appears...

Surveyor I also think there is a pulley on the bottom arm.

    Compact Bulldog Bone

What's this a bone mod? Check around the 1:18 mark This is a fun video to watch alone, but several times you see a very good shot of something that looks like the Bone with serious mod.

    WesSpur carries the SAKA

I am glad for you Richard. I really do not like the BS of others not selling it. Seems like if there is a patent fight, it is between you and haas folks and not the sellers (or should I say seller now). So hats off to WesSpur too.

    Using Maillon Rapide Quick Links

Richard, I wasn't surprised with your general premise that we don't get them tight enough without wrenches thus they will not be performing up to the spec or what they are capable of holding. Makes sense. What I don't understand is how important it is getting them to spec. If I am using...

    TRT

I saw the original video and thought it clever but novel, and wondered about the usefulness of it. What are folks finding and what does it improve on or the advantages over DSRT positioning? They seem very similar in many ways (except the obvious of only needing one device for TRT). Yet two...

Slack Tending with Carabiner (+ Wrench?!)

Craig, put some human weight on the hitch and see how it goes. I think you will find that the hitch is going to bind and bind hard. One of the most basic explanations for the wrench and hh is both mechanicals share the necessary friction with the hitch and thus keeps the hitch from binding too...

    Husqvarna 395XP Chainsaw and TrueFuel

I don't know if this is it, but maybe the can of TruFuel was old (even old when you bought it) and maybe not a perfect seal(?). Long time ago I had a nice weed eater that would not start. Took it to the dealer who was an old small engines guy. He took it, opened the fuel cap, smelled it and...

Load Sharing Forces at Support Points

Well I have thought about it some more and I am going to stick with what I said. I don't know what sparked a concern about my use of the term "theoretical" so let's call it "virtual" then as the actual weight and location at that single point will never be close to being realized and don't...

Load Sharing Forces at Support Points

Richard, always like your stuff and appreciate the thinking and sharing. With this one I think the challenge (and bit of a potential hazard because there is value in redirecting this way at times) is, though the math is right, the direction of the x and y force vectors is not addressed cleanly...
