Christian and I made the trip from Ontario to Florida for that symposium, I think the concensus was that it is still under investigation. It seems that a lot is being put into research and many scientist have been involved but 'time will tell', was the most popular amoung answers to many...
would there still be a liability issue if the different states or provinces offered an invitation to compete? Given certain guidelines I'd assume. For example; paying registration fees, unable to compete in masters, etc. Sounds like a very interesting idea to me.

I wonder why he was so determined that he was doing the right thing yet wanted nothing to do with sharing his name!

Who?

The guy who just bought 26 new biners from Nick.
Thanks Rich and Norm, sounds like an excellent chance to meet some more women climbers and to promote women in competion at the same time, please, keep me posted as well as to dates and locations. Cheers!

Why are the spots limited for the women?
Is this a first come, or flip the coin thing?

Yes they are, women are given five of the thirty available spots for competition, I believe it is done on a first come first serve basis. I'm curious now, are there not captions for...
Interesting take on the whole spidey sense comment, I thought it was in reference to spiderman. Any hoo, WOW, great topic and thanks for sharing Nick. I once suggested using biners at work to cut some corners and now I understand why those I suggested it to weren't so receptive. I wonder why...
Well you can certainly say that again Mark, it's encouraging just to read your posts Kathy. I as well am a female climber, new to the industry but I suppose I lucked out. I compete for the Ontario chapter and on average we seem to have the five allowed spots filled every year. The women are...
Thanks for the mention mangoes it was a little bit of bum luck but it won't hold me back from showing my face again next year. In everything we do there is a positive lesson to be learnt. Oh and by the way, it's Leier. And good on ya Kathy!
For sure. It gives an awesome oportunity for people to network. I don't tend to post too often but I certainly enjoy checking in and reading up on the latest 'tree gossip' if you will. I'm certainly thankful to friends that pointed me in the buzz direction.
Cheers!
Are you asking about provincial certs? I would think that the international cert would be recognised world wide but provincial certs....I think that's a grat question. Would Australia honour your BC cert? And if not am I wasting time getting my Ont cert? Should I just concentrate on my...
I think that these cheat sheets are a great idea, we don't carry anything like that in our trucks but I certainly think we should. I tried opening your attatchment but had some troubles I'm wondering if you might e-mail it to me...if so that'd be great. jupiter121780@hotmail.com Cheers!
My boss provides us with climbing gear on the basis that we sign a five year contract saying that we will continue work for him until that five years has past. If we chose to move on before that term is up then we have the option of buying out of the contract. I don't mind this set up although...
Hey Ben we're always looking for experienced climbers! The company I work for is in Ontario, Canada. I'm not sure if you were only interested in working in the US or not. Feel free to check us out at www.fourseasonstreecare.com Good luck with your job hunt. Perhaps you could send me a line...
Hey there, just checking to see how this post was making out. I see it's been awhile since anyone has visited. Just a little update. I'm still climbing and loving it more and more each time.....if only we could make a living out of recreational climbing! now there's an idea! School went...
I bought my Pacific with the Jonsered muffs as well at the TCIA '04, I have yet to have any problems with them they seem to work just great. I have heard feedback from a few people about shaving the peltor muffs down and them working alright. I'd suggest looking into the Jonsered muffs.
Can anyone give me any good web sites or books that they found or are finding to be useful in identifying trees and their common pests and diseases? I'm doing a few projects that I'm having trouble finding enough pests for.
Thanks!!
