I agree...but if a guy's got time and gumption to practice, being able to do it without a launcher is an admirable skill, IMHO. I usually ask "can I realistically get this by hand" before pulling out the big shot (and sometimes still end up shooting it). Try to find a balance of improving...
Parker-Store isn't as pricey as I thought they would be. Locally owned shop didn't have the right fitting to get from Avant to a standard fitting I needed for hydraulic forks, but Parker Store was able to get there. I also needed a hose and they are 15-20 minutes closer to the shop and it was...
Top Flyer Tree and Fence Work. You do gutters too? LOL
(Assuming that's storm work, not your work)
I like the Branch Manager but rigidity like that would be nice at times... For example pulling shrubs.
Here is one company's take (including a video with a representative from Wiley X) talking about "straight" glasses needing side shields. vs. "curved" frames having the required side protection built into the design.
Everything I read says if it is Z87 rated, they HAVE to provide side...
Got an email from ISA with the ITCC rules.
"2.3.14 Competitors, judges, technicians, and other approved individuals shall
wear approved eye protection at all times while inside the event safety
perimeter. Permission may be granted by the Event Head Judge for the
climber to stop and briefly...
For that particular model of glasses. I've not seen any others that say "only z87.1 rated if.....". So doesn't that mean if they are rated (without exception stated by manufacturer) that they are Z87.1 and that they must include adequate side protection to be rated as such???
Isn't the Z87.1...
"...There is clarity on this issue in both the ANSI Z133 arboricultural safety standard and the ANSI Z87.1 eye-and-face protection standard. Z133 states specifically that Z87.1 eye protection shall be worn. ANSI Z87.1 is specific in that eye protection is provided by safety glasses, and face...
the new Z133 is online and free:
https://wwv.isa-arbor.com/store/product/4733
But 3.3.6: "Arborists engaged in arboricultural operations shall wear eye protection that conforms to ANSI Z87.1"
Side note: What are "arboricultural operations"? Many things are obvious. How about: Consulting...
That's not the way I read it... (not the "rules are there for a reason...100% agree there!)
(emphasis added)
IOW, if there is a Z87.1 stamp on them, they, by definition, provide adequate lateral coverage. Otherwise they don't meet that standard, right?
I read something (I think in TCIA magazine?) saying that a Z87.1 visor does not take the place of Z87.1 safety glasses. I talked to the guy who did equipment inspections at the Ohio competition and he said "I just look for the Z87.1 stamp" (I don't think he realized there was a difference).
That would look more professional/clean. But I think his idea of local artists participating makes it connect to the community better. Probably depends on the community how that's perceived.
Of course, you could have local artists design the wrap...
There seems to be a balance between
1)...
Could it be that we no longer have acid rain???
I've talked to old farmers who say they've never had to apply sulfur but they are now. (But that could also be they've killed their soil with a corn-beans-wheat-beans-beans-corn-beans-wheat-beans rotation.)
What was your timing for the injection? I thought the high rate is supposed to be good for 3 years...but since is not a pesticide you aren't going "off label" to treat more frequently. Are you thinking every 3rd year now or hoping no more injections if you get working on the soil?
Thanks for...
FWIW, It looks like my credits are there from Detroit. But they are messed up...wrong dates (key note shows as August 12 while the very last session I went to on the 12th is dated the 10th. I think there is at least one course missing. Could be I didn't scan in, but I thought I did on the way...
I'm not sure how other states do it... If I want to host an event with CEUs I contact our State Chapter education coordinator. She reviews the stuff and (pretty sure) assigns CEUs. After the event, I provide attendance records/Cert Arb CEU sign-in form and she forwards to the mother ship...
Those are interesting. It shows pics in a space helmet, hazmat suit and the suit of the foundry working pouring metal. I wonder if that earpiece was put up in a climbing helmet right above your ear if you'd be able to hear it well without having to wear something over your ear?
I've also seen Speak Easy (https://speakeasycommunication.solutions/) that seemed more durable than Sena. They are at the Ohio ISA conference trade show every year - the guy demonstrates twisting the wire every way imaginable to show the are built stronger.
Are you able to give them a referral? I don't like saying no to work, but there are certainly plenty of times that I do. When that happens I always try to tell them who else to call so they don't end up with a hack destroying things ...plus hopefully they'll remember us as helpful and call...
