    That’s what I’d like to see come out. I’ve reached out to my nearest Dino dealer and it’s been 3 weeks with no response. The nifty is ideal just not tall enough for crane rigging. A sd85 would be the ticket.

    That’s the main spider I’ve looked at, it seems to be the most popular unit for sure. I wish it was easier to demo this kind of equipment before you buy. If we ever get to actually attend another tcia expo in person again I’d love to see them have an outdoor demo area to try new equipment.

    I’m using a 70hp kubota tractor with smooth bucket currently and even after scooping the big stuff i feel it is too much manual labor to finish up with rakes and pitchfork. We grind/ cleanup stumps every day so we know how to get it done, I’m just looking for a more efficient way.

    Me too. The keychain and stickers were definitely a nice touch. I did feel like it’s a little cheap feeling for 65 dollars. But it looks 3D printed maybe so I’m sure there’s a good bit of time involved in making it.

    It looks like it only clips on with enough force to hold itself on the cable. I don’t think it is strong enough to create any issues as far as live and dead end connection goes. Like you said in a snag I’m sure it would slide up or pop off. I just ordered one myself so I guess we can report back...

    My cable end doesn’t really get “caught” but it definitely gets frayed from catching branches in a canopy.

    Standing Pieces Up

    We have done/ still do it both ways. But it is always far smoother and less stressful to balance picks or as Steve said “rig it as it grew” In my experience you have to have the crane set up just right in relation to the branch you are standing up to avoid side loading the boom.

    My thoughts exactly! I don’t see us using the block either except maybe the rare occasion we get into massive wood that we can get close to. I’ve seen my rental guy use his block with us one time and even then we would have only been 60-65% capacity on the single line.
