Saw this fungus on a client's property last summer and from a distance I thought they had a property light installed. Some are interesting and not really hurting anything and at times symbiotic.
They have 3 key trees in their scenic woodsy back yard...that one, this one on the deck (80' Red maple the deck was built around) and a giant compromised White ash that has seen the battle with EAB which is not gone but has subsided. Do I tell them all 3 of these trees are high risk trees in a...
Whatever this double grapefruit size degraded basal infection on the bottom of this Pin oak I just looked at is, one thing can be fairly certain...it won't likely let this tree off easy in future years. It is difficult to prescribe needed pruning and a support system (cable) when this tree...
Pine sawfly larvae are creepy in that they extend in unison as well. Also creepy in that you almost have to be trained to look for them as they are so well camouflaged in color ...but given away by the movement while feeding.
We use ms 150's a lot. The saw is now discontinued. It's replacement is the new Stihl ms 151 TC. I just bought one today upon hearing this. Has anyone done any mods to enhance it. No carb so what can be done besides take off the screen?
Works very nicely. So now I have a hand read scale for the crane op, a readable scale for the person cutting for under $2k that will weigh up to 10k lbs. and I can upgrade to 20k easily and I did not have to lose my anti2block for a beeper or spend an arm and a leg modifying. Very happy with...
Don't know why there are 2 pictures posting but gonna try this out tomorrow. Good for 10k which about the max I would pick out of the tree and the unit is safe with twice the weight. Bought the hand held readout also. Hey once you cut it you own it but it can teach weights and at the same...
Thanks guys. Started at $74,5 was lowered on their site to $69,5 I believe and got it for $65k. It is still on their site but its in my lot.

I just bought a 2011 Altec LRV57 on a 4x4 International 7400 from Schmidy's Machinery in Clinton Ill. from Jesse Schmidy. It broke down on the way home about 100 miles out. Jesse was very fair in handling this and had it towed to a great repair facility in Indy and it was fixed to my...
The 1550 DW is closer yet a much smaller machine at around 3700 lb. to the Dingo near 6500 lb I believe. The txl 2000 Dingo takes any Bobcat attachment. https://www.ditchwitch.com/sites/default/files/SK1550%20Brochure%20Web.pdf
I have had a tx525 (diesel) STX26 and now have an STX38 grinder and a TX1000, all bought new. Last week I found a big chunk of rubber on the ground and could not figure if it was a piece of tire or what. It was a big spread out job with a lot of equipment. Probably a track lug from the tx1000...
The price on sale now is $49,900. with a huge bucket and that is probably worth at least $1500. So price is not out of line imo. I know most would see the cab and heat and a/c as a big advantage but I don't for removals and niche plowing..
I demo ed a new txl 2000 Dingo over a long weekend and pretty impressed. Had a half ass grapple and a huge bucket with it. Real happy but need a wide opening grapple to really bring out its personality I think. Anybody use one with it? 124" hinge ht. with extension. Cleared back of my lot...
Looking for a Certified Arborist with their own small company. Much experience on removals, pruning, diagnosis and treatment etc.. Needs all the equipment. I have been their Arborist for over 30 years and they are moving from Cincinnati in June. Very nice people to deal with and extensive...
