We do most with .5 " stable braid, some natural crotch arborplex, but when we get into wood wr switch to 5/8. Ive seen some glazing in very large pieces and insufficient wraps portawrap. Bummer to wreck three ropes in one day
I can speak to Ryan's laziness.
I most often do what Ryan said, but I've watched him do it enough times that typing out that answer seems like copying from a class mate.
@cbachmann -where in pnw did you land?
Just looked at a photo, in my hitch the twists are the last thing before pulley. same parts just mixed around.
A wise man once told me that you can take any number of twists braids and wraps etc and and have a climbing hitch. some combos work better however
Thanks reed never knew the name. just kind of stumbled upon it looking for a way to keep the long braided vt legs from slipping down below the tending pulley.
Henceforth I will call it XT
I feel like I've had that level of performance with rope runner, I can remember specific climbs that felt otherworldly, but weather condition, rope diameter and bollard/axle wear, pulley drag etc etc all have to align. seems more fickle to me than rope on rope.
Tim- ocean poly 10 mm on Yale...
Wet ropes, sticky bollards, missed swings, a thirst for speed and high performance, as well as nostalgia!
Nothing serious, just Getting acquainted with the idea that rope runner two will likely be way out of my price range
Super skinny 160! Wind would have been rough.
Nice to see I'm not the only one who gets completely fed up w the safety glasses at times in the rain.
Another nice one reg thanks for posting
