new topic ideas for climbers corner ohio

I have had the task of finding speakers and topics for the last few years, and to be honest its getting boring for me not that my speakers have been boring. they have all been fantastic.. but I am thinking about new topics... things on the fringe of climbing. if even in the main topic at all...

    Saka vs Velox?

you are 100% wrong here. when you fold it over and lock down both ends like the" saka" you have 2 lengths in parallel they could literally be two separate pieces. the legs act independent of each other.. the "saka" is a haas with twice as much bungee force as it needs plane and simple...

    Saka vs Velox?

I believe Beranek was the first to use bungee in in arboriculture and I think possibly anywhere to advance a ascender at knee height. there is always someone who will tell you they are a self proclaimed Genius and they did it first but didn't tell anyone ( and the caving community which...

    Saka vs Velox?

this is not the case. the "sake " basically folds one bungie in half making it 2 times as strong. which is not needed.. the VELOX has two lengths of bungee in series which gives you 2 times the elongation.. this is very beneficial.. it mean no set up, much better range, and anyone can use it.

Who (or who's dad) remembers this bad boy?

in 98 I was 17, and had made the decision to get a BA in biology/ biochemistry. with the intent of Med school. ( 2/3 of all incoming freshmen want to be doctors) that summer after my first year I needed money to help pay for this endeavor so I took a job roofing a old barn for a...

they are always to blame .. lost tools, messes, missing food.. bad smells, and when they are not, they still are... its one of their two notable qualities... someone to blame and positive match for spare organs.

    missing rope runner.

I have to respond to this. it turns out I may not have loaned it out, or they gave it back. I really have no idea ..... but I have it. I was doing a removal a week ago and called for a old rigging line I hardly ever use, and about 20 ft into the bag my runner popped out. I have no idea...

Components of a Self-Advancing Knee Ascender (SAKA)

HAAS are not hard to build by design, if money is a issue, built it if its time and materials your worried about, that is why I decided to make them to help those guys out. if you just like the idea of making your own stuff that is cool too. But if you make a lot of something you can make...

Do we really need to deadwood????

great thread. one thing to consider. if you say something is dangerous, and therefor you should walk fast under it to reduce your exposure. this would be a effective way to mitigate exposure. but it also unfortunately is proof that who ever is in charge of the place knows there is...

    Arbpro Clip'N vs. HAAS 2.0

as the Boots go, the red wears out, or at least the brightness, or you get used to wearing bright red shoes, not sure. but I am a more reserved guy and I have to admit the color out of the box was pretty bright. mine dulled down but I think mostly I just got used to wearing red and yellow...

    money-hourly-rate-time-opportunity cost.

the port wrap thing was a really old example, but the more I do the more I realize how that kind of thing can really slow down or even stop the growth of your company or career.
